It's a little late in the day for this.

I usually like to hear someone's ultimate demise with my coffee in the morning.

I’ve never heard the recording but supposedly exists.

A Marine Huey with a Major as the pilot in command and young Lt. as the copilot lost its rotors in mid flight. The young Lt was screaming and crying the whole way down knowing it was over. Just before the impact you hear the Major come over the intercom and say

“Shutup and die like a man.”

Why don't they make the plane out of the same material as the black box?

An almost identical anecdote is in Tom Wolfe's "The Right Stuff", except its Naval aviators over Korea. A young LT(jg) has a MiG on his six and can't shake him. As his panic increases, a voice comes over the radio telling him to "Shutup and die like an aviator."

I think you hear a recorded female voice saying "Terrain, pull up! Terrain, pull up!"

I was in a serious car crash (I was the driver) where we slammed into the side of a bridge at interstate speeds. I don't remember saying it but as we were just about to slam into the wall my passenger very clearly heard me say (and he said I was very calm about it) "OK, here we go..."
