The commercial plane that went down near Buffalo was eye opening.

The Pilot and his female co-pilot were chatting about how they had never seen so much ice, and how they had never been trained to fly in it.

When the plane reaches its wing-stall speed the yoke shaker is audible on the recording. The pilot pulls back on the yoke, and they all die.

If I remember correctly they had tail icing which induced a tail stall. A tail stall appears to be and feels exactly like a wing stall but the recovery procedure is the exact opposite of a wing stall. A very bad situation.

Did they ever find that malaysia plane that was missing years ago?

No, and I believe that I just read recently where the Malaysian government is officially ending the search for it.

I don't know if it was a wing or tail stall, but I think the plane landed belly down on a house. I believe that I read that it fell almost straight down once it stalled.

One house was practically obliterated, while the others around it were largely intact. It was strange seeing the upright tail on the lawn and the rest of the plane and house pretty much completely destroyed by the fire.

I can't imagine them both not understanding what was happening, the aircraft not responding to control inputs and watching the altimeter unwind. Probably sucked for the passengers too, although I think it happened at night and maybe they were unaware of how fricked they were.

(and he said I was very calm about it) "OK, here we go..."

I have in car footage of me during my worst wreck. There's a loud bang and you hear me say, "this is gonna hurt" Loud bang and I'm airborne again. And I calmly said, "yeah, that hurt." And then I just started creepily laughing through the next like 4 flips

Your brain copes in wierd ways.

The plane in the Buffalo crash had a high wing and T-tail. Whenever the wing stalls the aerodynamics will cause a tail stall or at least severely reduce the effectiveness of the rudder and horizontal stabilizer.

When the plane was telling the pilots it was about to stall the captain for some reason pulled back on the controls, and the first officer took out the flap settings on her own and didn't say anything to the captain. The plane stalled, rolled and nosed down into the ground.

There was also icing conditions at the time which didn't help.

And since then, the amount of English spoken in the world has grown exponentially.

I was watching a show once about people in a third world country living in huts and they spoke English. It wasn't their first language mind you, but they spoke it. And well. I think the U.S. must be the only country where the majority of citizens only know one language.

I was living in Orange County and flying a couple of days a week up and down the coast for work, primarily on Alaska Air, when that happened. I refused to get on an MD-80 after that crash for about two years. It was a terrible accident and the circumstances really unnerved me.

I remember a lot of AA mad dog pilots overheating the horizontal stabilizer trim systems before takeoff, weeks after the crash. Making sure they had full pitch control authority. Lots of delayed and cancelled flights.

Why don't they make the plane out of the same material as the black box?

I've asked this same question and the only answers I've gotten is that it would be too expensive and make the plane too heavy
