and take my highest rated QB at #4. I don't think any of the QB's separated themselves enough to go #1. But Darnold, Rosen, and Allen could all be good picks at #4.

Thoughts?

If they get Baker and Barkley then they're going to run their division in a couple years.

Not really Saints related though.

Depends on how they feel about Kizer.

If they are not all in on Kizer they have to get qb at #1.

I don't think they can risk rb at 1 after they got burned by T. Richardson

I take Barkley at #1, trade down a couple spots and take either Calvin Ridley or Quenton Nelson. Sign Keenum, Bradford, or Teddy. Give Kizer another year or two to learn and see where that goes. Get two offensive studs to match the studs on defense they have. Bradford would be ideal for them. Nice mentor for Kizer.

Or, if they like Jackson or Mayfield that much, trade back into the 1st to get one of those guys in the backend of round 1. Would be a homerun, IMO.

I really wonder sometimes if people actually watched barkley's film. Yea he is a freak athlete, but disappeared at the end of a lot of games.

The problem with taking a RB, especially with where the Browns are now as a franchise, is that RB shelf lives are short. Jeremy Hill was drafted in the same draft as Derek Carr and yet Hill is already seen as past his prime while Carr is a decade away from being seen as aging. Literally a decade away.

I don't think you can pass on a QB at #1 here.

They'll take him at 1 then trade him. Then they'll take Mayfield, Guide, and Chark!

When guys like Leveon Bell went in 2nd, David Johnson in 3rd, Kamara in 3rd, McCoy in 2nd, Hunt in 3rd, Ajayi in 5th, Freeman in 4th why the frick would you pick a RB 1st overall. I don't care who he is. Especially when you do not have a QB.

I think the problem with this line of thinking is that your scouts and coaches are going to like a specific guy. They're going to prefer one of these guys, have a vision for them. I don't see them really being like "I could take Darnold, Rosen, OR Allen and they'll all work!" .. the QB position just doesn't really work that way. And if that is the case, if you feel more strongly about one of the guys, then you're potentially missing out on your preference at the most important position in the game for a running back.

Well you would be a complete idiot ,but it is in line with something that Cleveland would do. It is not that hard they need a franchise QB so go ahead and take Darnold. How many times will they pass on a Wentz, Goff, or Watson to go for a stud in the draft with the first pick and try to get a QB later on. They need to go get a Franchise QB especially with this draft and build around him.

The Browns could’ve and should’ve broke the bank for Kirk Cousins. Then drafting SB no.1 would make perfect sense. But they let him get away.

I just think it's funny that they draft a QB basically every year & they still haven't found one.

Take Barkley #1 and trade back to take Mayfield.

Would be a solid move for them.

Sooner or later, Cleveland will get it together like Jacksonville just managed to do.

Sometimes all it takes is 1 player.

I probably would too.

1. They're probably going to add a QB like Case Keenum or AJ McCarron.
2. There's no clear cut #1 QB prospect so one of them will fall to #4. shite, Indy probably isn't taking QB and there's a chance the Giants might not either.
3. There's a steep fall off from Barkley to the next best RB prospect.
4. Ezekiel Elliott and Leonard Fournette proving RB's can carry mediocre QBs to W's.

Simply to add yet another name to the career ending team legacy.

as others have said in this thread, they likely have a guy they like. This isn't fantasy football; you don't just "take the one thats left over". If they have 2 they like, then yea, you might see that happen. I think once it gets down to it, the pressure will be on to take a QB with the first pick. It's already starting.

If all of those QB's are rated evenly,

I trade the number 1 pick for more picks in the draft, including the trading teams 1 and 2. If this guy is so good of a back to take at 1, they will give a 1 and 2. Then I take the QB at 4. I use the other first and second round picks to start working around him. Clear up any holes on the Line and get a Good WR to go with him. Maybe even that TE from South Carolina as well.

Because let's be honest... The Browns aren't a RB and a QB away from a winning season. A team with that little wins in the last three years has holes all over the place. Get the most picks you can get for that number 1.
