Think I may have found an old Indian Cutting Tool.

Brought my dog to the creek earlier and while walking around in the water I found this. I've found several on the internet that look the same. Also could just be a rock.

Still has buffalo blood on it. Cool find!

Looks too thick in my completely uneducated opinion

It has definitely been chipped on/at, but I don't see any design that says it would have been a knife, arrowhead or anything else. It may have been the tool they used to chip other rocks into shape.

Looks like ol boy trying to form an arrowhead or hatchet head, but got dealt with before he could finish it.

Ah yes, a first generation tampon.

Was def worked. Could have been used for scraping or just a rough piece used to cut but not necessarily a knife that once had a handle.
Cool find though. Absolutely an artifact

My wife is Cherokee. I’ll ask her and let you know.

It is definitely a worked tool or broken point. Not just a rock. Was probably a scraper or knife of some kind.

It's their de-boner tool.

Those will slice the shite out of you too. They seem dull, but when you apply a little pressure and a saw motion, the microscopic millions of razor sharp daggers along the edge will open up your skin like jello.
I learned this one night at the UGA archaeology lab.

Looks like a slice of ham to me.

It has been chipped and worked for sure.
Looks like it was intended to be a hide scraper,or a hand ax,but never finished.
Search more around the area, you might find some other stuff.
Where those springs come out of the ground, that's where you want to really search closely.
If there are any fallen trees around, search those roots close.

Best to go after a food plot or field is plowed and it rains. They just sit right up on the surface.
Someone was definitely working with that rock. Cool find.

Yes, it's either some kind of "scraper" tool or the back half is broken off and it was a knife or point.
