Don't absolutely balled out this year. We would've lost the Florida game if it weren't for his passes defended. He has some bad plays but everyone does, with an NFL coach with him, he'll be great.

Donte is a victim of 2 big plays that cost LSU games. Outside of the plays against Florida and Notre Dame, he's been a good corner. I've seen Tre White give up big plays, as well as Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Matthieu. All corners get beat, it's football. He might've given up 2 or 3 tds all season.

Why do our "fans" feel the need to shite on our players so much? in every combine thread made, within the first few post, someone starts shitting on them.

Does it make y'all feel better about your shitty lives?

1. because we have the most football ignorant fans in all of cfb.(had some dumbass 2 weeks ago talk about DJ's hips)
2. they only pay attention to lsu so when DJ gets burned for a td they act like every other great db doesnt get burned just as much.
3. no fanbase in any sport is more willing to shite on its own accomplishments and players like lsu fans.

DJ was an all sec cb ,was named sporting news AA ,and is considerd a 1st round lock and we have people shitting on him because he gave up 2 noticeable tds in 3 years.

only knowledgeable fans bring up his open field tackling( 4th on the team in solo tackles in both 2016&2017),his ability to play inside cb or outside cb, or that fact that he was very good cb that on 90% of the games locked his man the frick down.

He is not the best cover corner in the draft but has assets that can lead to some potential.

That play against Florida was incredible. So much bad all over the place. Receiver would have more difficulty with a gnat! I laugh now but not when it happened. Just grab his jersey and pull him out of bounds.
I could have sworn that was him that got manhandled by the Notre Dame WR too in the bowl game. Am I wrong?? But strength is not Donte's forte, he's a smallish CB that needed to get up to 190 pounds this year and didn't do that. I guess he thought he would hurt his speed, but as a former CB myself I know you need to be physical in today's game and Donte will struggle in that dept in the pros. Plus, he still needs work on his cover skills, I think the kid from Tulane Nickerson is a much better CB at this point.

Dang, that's flying! But then I noticed there was a fella that ean a 4.22 last year (John Ross)
Yeah, I was expecting Donte to get in the 4.2's, oh well, I guess we'll have to wait until LSU pro day.

Same for Auburn. He made like 4-5 stops on the last two drives they had.

o you really think 1st round lock

he is 1 of the 3 best cb in this draft class with the ability to play inside or outside and could be a weapon on special teams.

maybe i went to far with lock. maybe locks should mean top 10- top 15 picks.

even if he lost a step he'd still be faster than the average 40 time for CBs in the nfl.
If DJ wants to have a sustained nfl career, he has to put on, at the very least, 10-15 lbs of muscle or those
6'2-6'5 wr mutants will eat him up.

Donte is solidly a 2nd round pick. His size keeps him out the 1st round. Even though he was a good tackler in college he would get run over in the pros. Plus going to be tough for him to fight bigger stronger NFL receivers for the ball.

My memory must be fading but I recall Speedy Noil caught a TD over him at A&M in '14? Treadwell (OM) was the only WR I ever recall Tre having problems with.

Tre was great. Hoping Donte follows in his footsteps.

1 play does not cost LSU a game. That’s silly.

I can go back to the Arkansas game in '16 when Tre White had the guy covered on the sideline and looked backed to the quarterback and the guy kept running and beat him deep for a td. The point of my post was for those who say Donte isn't a good corner. Outside of a few plays, he's been really good @LSU.

Shitty comparisons

care to explain?its easier for lbs to get solo tackles than cbs which is why 26 of the top 30 solo tackle players in 2017 are lbs and not single one was a full time cb.

a cb having 1 less solo tackle than one of our best lbs shows and ability to make open field ackles.

how about this..

2011 mo Claiborne 32 solo tackles
2015 dj 32 solo tackles

2010 PP 29 solo tackles
2015 dj 32 solo tackles
