Again, no wonder the Sheriff is so anxious to make the NRA the target instead of his Department's epic failure. LINK

Serious question. Have the cops ever rushed into a mass shooting situation within the first, say, 2 minutes of gunfire?

If I'm in a life or death situation.. I would prefer to live or die based on my own decisions and ability to defend myself. Opposed to relying on a cop to save me.

Some cops won't be motivated to run towards danger if their own lives aren't at risk. My luck, I'd get one of the duds, that would sit outside and do nothing as I get murdered.

So, the answer is to insure that NOBODY is in a position to even be able to make that choice?

Of course not. I bring it up as just one problem with the idea of arming teachers, and something that should be considered if we're seriously going to consider that stupid approach. It's way down the list of reasons why the idea is stupid though.

But, your supposed "problem" is, at worst, keeping us in the same situation we are now. Hell, I'm happy giving students and teachers a chance.

The idea of arming teachers is so beyond stupid and really highlights the fetish you morons have for guns.

Like what's better than a school shooter, a school shootout Mr Douglas the Earth Science teacher with the gun gets to room 12a he is for sure going to know who the "bad guy" with the gun is and not shoot the wrong person and when Mr Thomas the Phys Ed teacher shows up a minute later and there's 2 people shooting at each other he's gonna shoot the right person. Then when the SWAT team shows up there gonna know the bad guy has been shot and not kill all the teachers with guns. Seriously stop watching action movies and realise how fricking dumb it is for teachers to be armed

We simply can not depend on the state to protect.

Once Der Staat exists as an appendage of a Globalist movement, Der Staat exists to preserve, enrich, sustain and glorify ITSELF! Once it becomes a critical appendage of a Globalist Government, your local Staat no longer exists for the purpose of protecting any Constitution or Bill or Rights because it has a NEW purpose: to preserve, enrich, sustain and glorify Itself and the new Globalist Government.

When such a premise is accepted and understood, maybe this can help us understand why Der Staat seems to place the interests of the Individual down on the list of priorities.

Nice work, you should be writing novels.

Shooting a gun in a crisis situation is really difficult to do well. I recall an incident in the early 2000's when a murderer was shot and killed by two cops at 34th and 5th Avenue right in front of the Empire State building.

The guy was armed and dangerous and had just shot and killed someone so if ever there was a justified shooting, that was it.

But - - the cops also shot and wounded ten innocent bystanders. (Most of the wounds were caused by ricochets and none of the bystanders died or suffered serious permanent injuries.)

Shooting under stress is tough:
quote:

In 2005, NYPD officers intentionally fired their guns at someone 472 times, hitting their mark 82 times. In 2006, New York police fired under the same circumstances 364 times, hitting their target 103 times. That same year, Los Angeles police fired 67 times, recording 27 hits.

What weapon did he use, was it a weapon of mass murder?

The Ar-15 the hero used was not a weapon of mass murder, as it was not used to murder anyone.

Morons wait for the police to come when a shooter has his "gun" pointed at you.

Piss off.

Oh I know that, I wanted to make sure the Toddy's of the board knew he used the AR-15 to stop the nut.

Doesn't this kinda destroy the argument that we need armed guards at schools now?
I mean a sheriff's deputy was there and didn't stop anything. Virginia Tech had an entire on campus police department on campus and that didn't stop anything.

Also, the scared sheriff's deputy kinda supports one of the therioes some have been saying about a small % of police---that they are shooting first because they really are afraid. (I do acknowledge that this is a great extrapolation---but I think it's still worth mentioning and hearing the counter argument)

Damn right it would have been. Sad that he died while the coward is living and breathing. If the coward blew his brains out today, I wouldnt feel sorry at all.

That does a better job at showing the lack of training than the difficulty of the task.

So your answer is to just allow massacres to happen then because of what-ifs? Those of those teachers nor kids had a chance. Arming them with fricking slingshots would've been better than what they got.
