Wasn't Quarterman suspended during his jr year at some point, I wonder if it was related to this.

It sounds like it is contact with an agent. If I remember correctly, when a college athlete takes money from an agent they are declared ineligible. Also if the said player played in games then the school might have to vacate victories that the player played in. If that is the scenario then it should not affect LSU because JJ was here and we sucked under him

Declare for draft -> sign with agent -> get loan from agent -> get drafted -> repay agent

His suspension had to do with his attitude from what I recall. He apparently couldn't coexist with the wonderboy.

Johnny Jones helped Dale Brown get us on probation before. While I liked Dale, his last years were a disaster. Johnny was little more than a yes man. He comes back to LSU as HC and apparently dealings during his coaching tenure could get us on probation again. If the NCAA will settle for forfeit of games, I'm all for it. Most of those teams weren't than good anyway. Let them have the games.

As for Johnny Jones, he might want to consider Junior High as his next HC gig.

Joe Alleva and F. King Alexander hired “the bag man” Johnny Jones. This sounds like a perfect opportunity to fire both of them with cause.

Oh wait I forgot that the BOS is spineless and JBE loves the fact that F. King Alexander is more than happy to play along with the LSU football is in danger if we don’t raise taxes line.

These allegations are less about the college coaches and more about the players relationships with agents. Behind the scenes type stuff that, while many coaches may have suspicions, there is very little they can do to control what deals their athletes are making with the agents.

If true, this is 100% reason to fire Joe Alleva

Hired known cheater Johnny Jones, Jones is already gone, Alleva takes the fall here. I’m not joking at all.

I regret that I have but only one upvote to give.

You want to fix this problem? Have the NBA not allow any players that get caught breaking these rules in the league for a season or two hereby pushing that rookie contract with that. Seems like a lot of these instances are beyond the school involved’s control. How is LSU supposed to do anything about a second or third year player taking money from an agent without knowledge?

This is exactly what people bash Calipari for at UMASS with Marcus Camby.

I don't mind the paying players but damn we can't even make the NCAAs paying them. I'd rather go Louisville win a NC and then vacate it. Better than not ever going IMO

College basketball has been filthy at least since the 70s. I'll be surprised if ant decent D1 team comes out unscathed.
