Why are federal authorities investigating this?
I know it's against ncaa ruLe to accept benefits, but it's not a crime....

Yep, since Martin was paid after he left lsu, as long as there is no proof of anyone at lsu knowing about quartermans payment all they can do is vacate wins.

Oh the naivety!! He has the number 3 recruiting class in the Nation and could end up with the number 1 class. Do you not think that every big time program finds loopholes to get these players and their families money? There is too much money in college sports and ticket sales fiscally impact every major University and keep them operating. Will Wade plays the game, he is not going anywhere.

Everybody says proof, proof. The NCAA has no subpoena power so they are not required to have proof. In our Albert Means mess, there was not one cancelled check, no money order, nothing. The committee started every allegation by saying "it is the committee's belief...."
We know we payed him but if u think the NCAA needs some kind of hard evidence u are gonna be surprised. They had zero. Even his mom said they didn't get anything, didn't matter.

Man, some of yall need to read. They got money from an agency that gave money to tons of players from different schools. So far there's nothing that implicates anyone from the LSU side giving money. The only penalty here would be vacated wins.

It’s hard to say this with any degree of certainty given that this is the first time a situation of this magnitude has arisen. It wouldn’t surprise me to see the NCAA drop the hammer to try to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
