Pure conjecture by guys who are known to overhype their "bombshell" investigations. Agents "advancing" potential pro players money is the worst kept secret in college sports. It's been going on for at least 30 years...in football and basketball. Maybe if Thamel continues to try hard enough he'll eventually bring down Auburn for the Cam Newton "cheating"

This will likely result in some NCAA regulation changes, but I doubt the schools listed see much, if anything.

This info could have made Tim and Jarell ineligible. That’s all we know from this. Unless they have info that our staff knew about it, nothing big will come from this for LSU. The teams that get big penalties will be teams who had staff involved.

Lol. This isn’t some mind boggling discovery. Happens everywhere in the country. The schools will claim they had no knowledge of this and consequences will be minor. It’s not like an LSU affiliate gave them money. Too many schools involved to bring major sanctions. There would be no more college basketball

According to Tiger Rag, the money loaned to Martin was after he was already in the NBA and no longer at LSU; so that $54k doesn’t matter. LINK

As for Quarterman, he is like a bad rash that won’t go away. But if they can’t prove that LSU was involved with having that money funneled to him; then I don’t see how the school really gets hit that hard. This more looks like one of those bribery payments to try and entice him to sign with the agent and not anything more than that.

Assuming the staff/school knew nothing about what two jackass players were doing, why would the NCAA yank schollies? To me, it's like if a player commits armed robbery...shouldn't punish the school because the player committed a crime (unless the school was complicit) Also, we have had a shitty basketball team should be an absolute defense. We were punished enough having to watch that crap.

Explain how JJ cheated here

Quarterman and Martin were paid by agents for their future business

They were not paid to go play at lsu, and coaches aren't inlovked

People need wo understand this isn't a Louisville/auburn situation

Every major school in America will be implicated by the time they're done investigating. Gotta wonder how long before college football is exposed

College football will be fun to watch. NCAA football is totally out of control. With as much money flowing around there has got to be major violations.

Why does he need a $54k loan if he’s in the NBA

There is like 6 months between him being done at lsu until he gets his first NBA check

Loans from agents during this time period is common, and perfectly legal if the player isn't on the team in college anymore

Welp. Time for more draconian sanctions. It only took 20 years to get over the first ones.

Guys, this isn’t nearly as bad as you think.

This just says we had an ineligible player (quarterman) on teams that didn’t win anything of note. It doesn’t say LSU did anything wrong, at least knowingly. And Martin was paid after he was done playing at LSU.

Vacate wins is punishment for this, and honestly who cares.

But we should still fire Alleva.
