His bat is good enough to put up with some growing pains at 1st. Kid is going to be really good.

Hit the ball well and I recall a good stretch at first. He's going to be a good one.

Did you even watch the game ? He almost missed a pop up on the infield in the 9th inning while we had a 1run lead. He also didn't cover first base once on a ball back to the pitcher. Not exactly solid ..First game of the year though he should come around. Looked good at the plate.

If it’s the one I’m thinking of be went up the right field line side to help smith out on a throw. Nice stretch and able to stay on the bag. Helped keep ND at 6 after we thee the 4 spit up.......maintained mo.

I thought he was alright at 1st. The mistakes he made were judgement things and are fixable. He showed the ability to reach and stretch for balls. He's gonna get some things fixed and will be a good one.

People think 1st should be pretty easy for guys who’ve played middle infield/3B their whole lives. But it’s a whole different beast. It will take him some adjustment. Like knowing which of his pitchers are good enough athletes to get to those inbetween plays like Ben pointed out last night. But he’ll get he hang of it quickly. I thought, everything considered, he looked really nice over there. Unless there’s an injury, I doubt he gives that position up.

He played well but is still getting comfortable and used to the footwork around the bag. Made some good stretches and catches.

Great at the plate, shaky fielding his position. First game though. Hopefully he will get more comfortable and soon.

. That ball was a roller between him and the pitcher. That was the second baseman’s fault dumbass.

He had one mistake when he left first base uncovered trying to get to the ball on a swinging bunt that Gilbert easily fielded but had no one to throw to at first.

But it was a "hustle" error trying to make a play.

A couple of throws made him look a little awkward with his footwork but he caught the throw each time for the out.

I guess I'm saying he looked like a freshman a couple of times.

Yeah a 5'8'' 1st baseman is not ideal.

He made one mental error charging a ball that ways kinda in no mans land.

Other than that, he was phenomenal. He made some really nice stretches.
