You’re suffering from a severe melt. 2/3 of the posts on the first page is you declaring your love for Lebron.
I'm a Cleveland fan so I obviously love Lebron since he brought us a championiship. Besides I've spent my entire life observing the Brown's incompetence and the Indians' multiple games 7's of the world series. So I know what melting is, and this is nothing compared to that.

I consider them to be overpaid monkeys only here to entertain us. Maybe I'm wrong with that sentiment.

Its a non-story really, just stupid bickering, but there are a lot of people calling Laura Ingraham racist for calling him out.
It wasn't racist, but I wouldn't have so sure that it wasn't if I hadn't known about her "Shut Up and Sing" catchphrase she used for the Dixie Chicks.

What irritates me is that she's obviously an extremely smart person, and I've seen her present some strong and substantive criticisms when she was guests on shows. But now that she has a show, she's devolved into the toxic and lazy commentary that is rampant across all of the channels. So she resorted to this ridiculous notion that celebrities shouldn't express opinions, but seemingly only when they don't share the opinions, and obviously one's own opinions are somehow ok though.

I mean she could have said something like, "The tax reform is going to help people families and workers in Cleveland and Akron. So whether he cares or not, the results are what matter. So until you can be honest and acknowledge these results instead of contributing to the toxicity, maybe you should just shut up and dribble."

She's probably smarter than me, and could have made something more powerful, but it took me a minute to come up with a more substantive criticism without resorting to the ridiculous hypocrisy that others can't express an opinion.

I truly think if the Hannitys and Lemons, and now the Ingrahams, didn't have these commentaries that just pander to their base, we would be better off. The media's problem isn't when Fox News, NYTs, CNN, etc. are reporting the news, it's when these goofballs start reinforcing the ignorance of the base for viewers with their commentary.

Ingram's attach on LeBron was completely bush-league. i can't remember seeing a more virulent personal attack on TV, ever.

This was some of her diatribe:
quote:

LeBron's' "R-rated" take on Trump was "barely intelligible, not to mention ungrammatical,"
quote:

Look, there might be a cautionary lesson in LeBron for kids. This is what happens when you attempt to leave high school a year early to join the NBA.
quote:

And it's always unwise to seek political advice from someone who gets paid $100 million a year to bounce a ball.
(the stupidest remark you will see all year)

I assume that this was more or less a click bait ratings ploy, but she went completely rogue. And her usual whiny, semi-shrill voice made her even more an irritant.

Did LeBron respond other than saying he won't shut up?

Naw, my point was only that I think it's dumb this is national news. I turned it on ESPN radio in my car earlier and even they were wasting time talking about it. I am thinking to myself "Who cares? How is this news?"

I mean Laura and LeBron had a Twitter spat. If this is something that requires national attention during all that we have going on in this country, then we are in a sad state of affairs.

Has nothing whatsoever to do with whether you "like LeBron's statements". It has to do with the accuracy (or inaccuracy) of those statements, and the size of the audience being swayed by them.

As a personality holding sway over opinions of a large and poorly informed audience, do you think Lebron has any responsibility to not mislead that audience? Any responsibility at all?

If he shirks that, should he not be called to the carpet?

Can't he just send one of his posse to debate for him?

The classic everyone can have an opinion but someone else that disagrees shouldn’t have an opinion defense. LeBron has the literal education of a 12th grade girl and consistently speaks ignorantly about political and societal issues he knows nothing about. And everything he does goes out to millions of children on twitter and Instagram who don’t know any better.

He could do that but my bet is they're dumber than Lebron.

Laura is so terrible. Got introduced to her on the sideline before a Bama football game a few years ago and she got offended I didn't know who she was. I honestly had no clue who she was at the time.

Lebron should tell her to kick rocks. Going on her stupid show only gives her credibility. God forbid athletes have political opinions.

It just seems like there is always only 2 superteams that compete and the rest are just background actors.
