Democrats shut down the government *in order to* blame President Trump. Thank about that..

Think about the level of media corruption they must take for granted to even contemplate such a thing.
And that's why they are bitching about the headlines not blaming GOP. They were expecting to get their narrative saturated all over

Well, when your propaganda channels fail to distribute your propaganda at the appointed time, there’s going to be some frustration.

It's obvious this was the case.

The GEOTUS for starters.

If that was actually true, it shows just how powerless and inept Trump and Congressional Republicans are.
Think about that.
Think about that.

Howso?
They didn't cave on an unrelated item totally irrelevant to the budget.
I call that standing on your convictions and not being strong armed by bullies.
We'll just see how it plays out.
So far, Trump and the GOP are clear in their messaging on what happened and why it happened.
I haven't heard shite out of the Dems.

I think its a little more nuanced than that, but essetially i agree. The calculation for dems was that the msm would blame republicans no matter what, so they could afford to try to get DACA for free. This is just too cut and dry to window dress.

I'd like to hear your well thought out synopsis to come up with that conclusion.

I just can’t believe they filibustered a bill that would have passed to simply fumd the government. Fillibusters used to only be used for VERY important issues. It’s become a weapon used by whoever the minority party is at the time.

There are two core issues involved here - CHIP and DACA. DACA was rescinded in May of last year, and Trump signaled Congress needed to fix it. CHIP funding wasn't renewed over 100 days ago, so it's been sitting in limbo for over 100 days. BOTH issues have broad bipartisan support, both in Congress and among citizens. Republican leadership has said many times they intend to tackle both issues, only to keep kicking both down the road. Trump even staged a televised meeting on immigration I guess to show he was open to immigration reform. He asked for a bipartisan bill saying he'd sign it and take the heat for it, but when the bipartisan proposal was reached, he balked and changed course. McConell then changed his tune about bringing a bipartisan bill to the floor blaming Trump's shifting positions on the issue. Through all this, one thing has remained constant - there is nobody taking the lead on legislation in the Republican party. Even in the House that only needs a simple majority, they had to shakedown the Freedom Caucus to get them on board.
The CR deadline has been known since the last CR was authorized in November. Republicans decided to finally include CHIP funding in that bill to entice Dems. Dems asked when immigration reform would be addressed, and couldn't get a guarantee it ever would be. So they called the bluff.
To be clear, BOTH sides hold some culpability in this. I really don't give a shite about the blame game. I think the whole thing makes a mockery of our legislative process, one that has devolved into pettiness. Framing this as Democrats wanting a shutdown do they could blame the President is laughable when the President himself has publicly stated several times that maybe we need a shutdown.

They sacrificed CHIP for illegal aliens. Then tried to blame Trump.
No one was pushing DACA and amnesty but the left wing of the left wing.
