The sign for Romans on Perkins is gone so I'm assuming they are closed.
Damn the place to make Lebanese tea for the first time. Truly a historic place closing down.
But really this place wasn't good, overpriced, and when the "manager" told me he invented Lebanese tea I couldn't help but burst out laughing, which he did not like at all.

Anyone have Krispy Catch in the pool?

Then he stole your credit card number. Who’s laughing now?
Actually, he was gonna steal your credit card number anyway. I’ll never set foot in there again. Doesn’t look like I’ll be tempted now.

Have no idea about the food, but it's not an appetizing name for a restaurant - sounds like they primarily serve burnt fish.

Soggy Catch would be worse

crispy catch’s food is disgusting
they were a vendor at an event I went too last year and it was one bite/in the trash

I've had it a few times and thought it was fine. Not a great value, though.
Why the RIP in the title? A few days ago, they posted to Facebook they were closing Perkins in order to open a location with a drivethru. The mall store is staying open.

He's batting .000
He's listed RIP two different restaurants that are not closing.

Crispy Catch
Business Report says the owner of crispy catch/the building already knows who is going to replace crispy catch. Said it's a local restaurant. Anyone with inside info?

Interesting. It’s a great location, but nobody is tempted to try a place called fricking Krispy Catch.
Isn’t Shrimp Basket the one building the new building on Sherwood next to The Londoner? If so, I want to put down the Perkins location as a late 2018 closure and the Sherwood location as an early 2020 closure. That shite isn’t going to make it.
I have absolutely no idea how Bull Chicks is still open. Same goes for Streetbreads and El Salvadora (whatever it’s called).
Bleachers has to be shutting down soon too. I go down W. Chimes weekly and have never seen a single person in the building. It’s almost creepy how empty it stays.
Pretty sure Lee’s Hamburgers or whatever is in the old Pizza Hut on Sherwood is done. Not surprised. Still waiting to see who is brave enough to buy the old Walk-Ons on Coursey. A ton of traffic right there.
Anybody know how Los Reyes on Coursey is doing? I’ve eaten there several times and it’s great food, but I never see anybody there.
I also am wondering how South of Philly stays open. I absolutely love their food, but it’s too unhealthy to eat often and I never see more than one or two cars in the parking lot.

Been to los reyes a few times and has been fairly crowded each time. Really good too

Love South of Philly. They do a great lunch crowd but dinner is spotty. I’m guessing the lunch crowd keeps it alive.

I think I saw a thread that Street Breads is closing or has already closed. Canefield has a sign saying "Closed temporarily" so they're probably not going to reopen.

Bull Chicks is doing well, they are crowded every time I eat there. I think they are a hidden treasure, their Cajun Spicy (or whatever they call it) hot dog is the best one in BR. They cook every thing to order, so avoid the drive thru.

I’m shocked Canefield survived so long. Other LSU restaurants I don’t understand lasting so long are Bullfish, Breck’s Bistro, and that Lebanese Place next to Shady’s/Cyclone Laundry.
I’m assuming at this point that Buds isn’t opening in the old Dive Bar location. They’re like 8 months overdue.

Must be. Their food is great it just always seems dead.

Looks like Buds is finally happening. Drove by this morning and they had a crew in there putting up window stickers and replacing tables and chairs.

After eating there once, I'm not that shocked. Their food is pretty decent.

Agreed. That Lebanese place charges insane prices for what you get. I've heard nothing but good things about Breck's, but don't know anyone who has ever actually gone there. Other than one of the sports talk shows being based out of the Bullfish, I have no idea how it stays afloat.

I like the South if Philly in Prairieville but I never see anyone else in there and those Asians who run it always look like they just got done having sex in a steam room. Just sweaty and gross.
Street Breads is solid and always has people for lunch when I go. I know they closed the Bluebonnet location but the one by LSU seems to do well. Great food.
I’ve always liked Shrimp Basket since I was little in Gulf Shores. It stays pretty busy when I go here.
