wishing for failure/mediocrity and expecting failure/mediocrity are 2 different things

the posis, for whatever reason, cannot grasp that

uh, nobody is claiming that titles are all that matters in the respective lives of posters

also, for not being "the factor that determines your existence", you certain put in work on the opposite side pumping sunshine

at what point is it acceptable, to you, to say O isn't that hire? you just said it's OK to criticize O, under the right set of circumstances. what are those and when is it OK to vocalize them?

You are essentially stating that Orgeron believes that it is in his best interest to tank the LSU football program. Ed O may not be the best or brightest football coach, but he is not dumb enough to believe that being unsuccessful as LSU's head coach is what is best for him.

He honestly believes that Ensminger can produce a successful offense. He may be mistaken, but he is not doing it out of selfishness.

it's a little more complicated/nuanced

Ed is way over his head

the only way Ed can "hold on" is to try the Miles approach of 9-10 wins a year to where it's scary to fire him and you can fall back on perceived "success" (especially if you lower the expectations of the fan base enough)

that's why he made decisions for "him" and not LSU like forcing Etling over his OC's wish to start Brennan (while starting Brennan is the better decision for the program long-term, it was worse for O so he nixed it)

Crowds this year were trash and it’s not only on the students

I went to two games this year. It was very disappointing.

At both, when i went to get snacks at halftime, i saw hundreds of people leaving.

I'm like sheesh. Why even come?

You can cheer for the team and not be a fan of the HC. I gave him extra chance after extra chance after extra chance. Enough is enough.

You make it sound like he's been the coach for 12 years not 12 months

I don't personally know a single person that wishes for a losing season. I hated the hire of O but I hope he goes undefeated every year. I don't care if our coach is rocket man from North Korea as long as we win ( ok that is a bit much but you get the point )

Why don’t you have a retort Mr Spell Checker. Look at the time of the post and consider I’m in Houston ie cst.
But go ahead and laugh because we know who will get the last laugh.
It won’t be me because I’ll be crying from heartache that this hire has caused from a regression perspective.

Y’all act like 9 or 10 wins today duals 9 or 10 wins when I was in school and Coach mac was our head coach. It doesn’t. 8 wins today is like 6 then because of how many cupcakes we schedule and actual hard teams we play.

So get off my lawn!

I share the discontent and concern (probably understatement) of the LSU athletic programs - principally football. As I have posted before, I've been a Tiger fan since my first game, at Tiger Stadium LSU vs Rice 1951. Like everyone on this board, I've suffered through many ups and downs.

My greatest hope and desire is that what ever the feelings and "rants" we have, that we give our undivided support to the young people who compete for LSU. They truly deserve our unconditional support and encouragement. For those of you who have read the letter from J D Moore you know what I'm talking about - what super young man!

We should always consider and support those young people, always.

Not fan of losing all those games at home. Tiger Stadium use to be feared. Now troy can come in and beat us

Sorry your brain does not work in the early hours, Mr. Grumpy. We are in the same time zone. A retort? How's this? What has your melting solved? Did it stop Ensminger from being hired? Did it stop Sullivan? Cry me a river. screaming at the wind does nothing. Predicting failure, does nothing. This Coach will succeed or fail. Either way-- your problem will get solved, whether you are positive or negative.

I am humored when someone calls another person stupid and cannot even spell the word correctly. Sorry if it is at your expense.

understandable and totally different from being on a CONSTANT NEGATIVE.

Most of us are positive, at least in what we would like to happen, knowing that we are facing a lot of challenges and a brutal schedule....

I have an issue with those who constantly criticize what can not, at this point, be changed and are actually adding to the problems with no sense of reality.

Some, would actually wish harm on the team so that their hate toward the coaches and AD can be executed in the form of a firing... total stupidity.

I'm in. Everything for this season in set in stone and not changing right now. Let the chips fall where they may. We win the way we should, everyone is happy and has no reason to complain. Lose and we get changes.
