Why didn't Les Miles ever think to hire Steve Ensminger as OC?

Was on his staff for 9 years, but it never came up. Was Les Miles an idiot and Coach O is a genius?

And in all that time, not a single QB really developed.
So is SE a great QB developer who just stayed in his lane and never imparted any wisdom on these kids?

Why wasn't this QB guru coveted by other teams at least? I don't recall us ever having to fend anyone off. ??

Not only Miles, but NO ONE in college has hired Steve to be an OC in like 20 years. Of course, NO ONE had hired O to be a HC in over a decade.

I said Ensminger should have the OC job over Stud the day Kragthorpe stepped down before 2011. I think that would have been the better move.

I believe Steve came back to LSU to retire. He didn't want to jeopardize that. Led is not the nice guy everyone thinks when it came to coaches. So he probably didn't want the responsibility or the scrutiny as an OC. What is really galling is that he coached a position that were barely used under Led, when he played and formerly coached a position where LSU desperately needed help. I put that on SE not wanting to upset Led and his boy Cam.

He did try to promote Ensminger.
