Why? He will likely have little to no input, beyond breaking down film and doing grunt work.

Would you rather people getting the job on actual merit or because the dude boils a mean pot of crawfish and coached your son in HS football??

You realize how contradictory this question is? He coached his sons in high school. Isn't that merit?

Guy is a master of the spread offense. He's a qb whisperer and will help develop Myles & young WR. This is a great hire. He did a tremendous job at MHS and if he had the athletes of a Destrahan or Landry Walker he'd already be a legit colllege coordinator. Remember plenty of college coaches come from High School backgrounds. Is he the next Guz??? Maybe not, but his knowledge of spread offenses and quarterback development skills will serve us well. No need to melt over the "optics" of this hire.

Like I said, you're freaking out over nothing. He's an analyst. If he were taking over as a position coach, I'd understand your frustration.

If he is taking the analyst role that the analysts take at Alabama and that coaching tree, it just means he will be a "recruiting assistant" to a specific position coach. That is what Bama and those offshoot schools (Clemson, UGA, etc) do. At those schools, each of the 9/10 coaches has an analyst helping them manage recruits and video evals.

Well we don’t really know what these guys do. I do remember reading an article about Alabama’s staff and there were only 3 people involved in Alabama’s defensive gameplanning- Saban, Smart, and an analyst named Glen Schumann

Probably varies how involved any of these guys are

If SE plans on running a power offense with a fullback full time then Guywill just be an advisor but if SE plans on spreading the offense out then Guy will be a very valuable hire with a lot of impact in the day to day offensive activities. Ask some of the top teams in state every year if they liked playing MHS.

Right, the appeal of Frank had a lot to do with his connections in Orleans Parish. I’m not making him out to be an X and O wizard

What does LeCompte bring to the table recruiting wise? He better be a hidden gem on offensive philosophy

Frank was a coach. I'm pretty sure that analysts cannot recruit. I don't know for sure if that's true though.

Guy Lecompte will not be recruiting. This is 100% for film breakdown and schematic input. People angry about this hire are nuts.

Saban has multiple high school coaches on his shadow staff.

how many of them coached saban's sons? how many of them quit their job and sued the school and didnt even have a job when hired?

Ponamsky hire, Jenkins hire, sullivan hire, ensminger promotion. And now this guy. Its pretty fricking ridiculous actually and they arent even trying to hide it.

Nothing besides adding a friend of Orgeron to a worthless analyst role.

They are all ed's boys. That's the point.

Les was loyal to a fault. He was fired.

I'm sure most of y'all were just fine with Cam and peveto. shite, for several years people wondered why Ensminger was even on staff other than being part of the BBQ buddies.
