He will basically be breaking down film and helping the other coaches as a gopher.

For example, a coordinator may say: Watch all the film on Miami last year and make a tape of only trick plays on special teams.

That's the kind of shite an analyst does. And they are paid shite. It's an entry level job for people who want to get into college coaching (or veterans who have to sit out a season for legal, PR or contractual reasons).

I hate the whole O show and I don't want Ensminger, but this is like complaining about who the student trainer is taping up ankles. It has no bearing on anything. This guy was a head football coach at the high school level. LSU and other schools hire analysts who have never coached.

None of you can name the analysts on the LSU staff. They are a bunch of nobodies, as they are everywhere.

And LSU has had Greg McMahan, Jerry Sullivan and Steve Kragthorpe. Former NFL coordinators and a former college head coach.

As I said in an earlier post, the analysts positions are often filled by coaches who need a place to be for a year or so for different reasons (contractual, legal, PR, etc.).

However, the most common hire is a coach trying to get a foot in the door of college coaching. Most often it is a former player who has never coached, or a high school coach.

This is true at every school that uses analysts.

Gotta admit - it’s what stuff like this smells like. Used to call it a patronage job, back in the day.

How do we know he isn't getting this analyst job on merit. He coached his sons, maybe Coach O thought he did a good job. I don't know anything about Lecompte, but what I have heard from impartial views is he is a good offensive minded coach. He is an analyst. Won't make much and will have little impact overall.

Sources say that the receptionist in the football office didn't actually go to sexatary school.

She is actually Parker Orgeron's old babysitter.

Alabama bringing on young, up and coming offensive/defensive gurus while Special Ed just putting all his boudin buddies on the LSU payroll (LeCompte, Sullivan, Jenkins). Its a disgrace.

Are you really saying Jenkins is no more than one of Os "boudin buddies"?

Right, the appeal of Frank had a lot to do with his connections in Orleans Parish. I’m not making him out to be an X and O wizard

What does LeCompte bring to the table recruiting wise? He better be a hidden gem on offensive philosophy

And yes I realize these analysts are not out recruiting but you’re crazy if you don’t think their connections play a role
