This could get interesting.

Why was the executive branch putting assets in an opposition party campaign?

The head of the research firm behind a dossier of allegations against then-presidential candidate Donald Trump told congressional investigators that someone inside Trump’s network had also provided the FBI with information during the 2016 campaign, according to a newly released transcript, a claim quickly disputed by people close to the investigation into Russian interference in the election.

Glenn R. Simpson, a founder of the research firm Fusion GPS, spoke to investigators with the Senate Judiciary Committee for 10 hours in August. As the partisan fight over Russian interference in the 2016 election has intensified, Simpson has urged that his testimony be released, and a copy of the transcript was made public Tuesday.

If they had an informant and this shits been going on for almost 2 years now then it's pretty obvious they have nothing. If it weren't already obvious a year ago.

It's hilarious that progressives are so afraid of Russians, but their actions in the 2016 election are exactly the kind of actions they accuse the Russians of.

-Rigged the Democratic Primary per Wikileaks
-Active collusion with the mainstream media per Wikileaks
-Funding a document used to spy on the opposing candidate's campaign
-Have an FBI informant in the opposing candidate's campaign

The hypocrisy is so obvious it's stunning.

Sounds like someone in the Trump campaign wilfully went to the FBI. Hope Hicks? Corey?

When the Obama administration wants to use our government as a weapon against their political rivals.. they really go all out.

The kim and castro regimes would be very proud.

It’s a reference to Papadopolous.

Simpson flubbed it.

Spied on political opposition much?

Are they carrying on now to justify their illegal activity then or is it a political hit against an administration they dislike?

I've been saying this for months. I said either the FBI, Hillary/Fusion, or the Russians had people planted on the inside. Perhaps all three, but for their own reasons.

Carter Page, in particular, always seemed to me to be a plant. The fact Page ran around boasting about going to Russia (not even trying to hide it), then later asks Congress for a classified hearing says it all. Dude is either FBI or was working for Fusion/Hillary. And now with the revelation that the FBI sought to entrap Trump with "muh Russia" (insurance policy and "I can save the country on many levels" and "we cannot let Trump win"), it all is becoming clear. We know for a FACT now that the FBI was involved in setting Trump up for "muh Russia." This is not in dispute. The only question now is how much role did Hillary/Fusion have in their decision to go after him? Were the FBI acting in good faith and were merely fooled by fake Fusion research or were they acting maliciously from the start? I suspect the latter, but it's possible these idiots really believed Hillary campaign nonsense.

You have to get up pretty early in the morning to fool ole AUstar. I'm glad Congress, the DoJ and the press is finally catching up with me.

I am a very unstable genius.

Reports clarified the statement as borderline perjury.

But a source close to Fusion GPS told The Hill on Tuesday that Simpson misspoke, mischaracterizing a tip that an Australian diplomat gave the bureau related to Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos.

Did they develop some asset, assist him in establishing placement and access in Trump's circle, and direct him to infiltrate the campaign to take it down?

Or did someone already within campaign credibly get a whiff of something fishy and report it to the FBI, at which time they began probing the accusations?

Because in one case the FBI's actions would be beyond criminal. Like J. Edgar Hoover shite.

In the other case, the FBI not investigating the accusations would have been beyond criminal.

This was the administration that used the IRS to go after his political enemies.
