How much less would he get if the same election were held in that state tomorrow?

1. Depends upon his opponent
2. Probably less than 62%

you are stupid.

What is the correlation you are looking for?

You realize that the reason Moore lost is not because Alabama hates Trump, or republicans.....

but simply because the candidate was shite, and the Dems used BILLIONS of dollars to exploit this.

If it's against almost anyone but Hilary, it would be somewhat close, but he'd probably still win.

Trump? No less

Jones got ~49% of the vote in Alabama yesterday. If he was running against anyone other than an accused pedophile how much less does he get?

A lot less

Moore lost in Alabama yesterday because he was the political equivalent to Hillary Clinton. He was a toxic candidate who no one really cared for but who Alabamians would vote for because of the 'R' next to his name. But then came the accusations of pedophilia and sexual harassment. Due to these accusations, Republicans stayed home while Democrats experienced a record turn out. As a result, Doug Jones won in a VERY close race.

In 2020, that seat will go back red once a legitimate candidate for the seat emerges.

If it's against Hillary, I think the results are about the same, maybe a tad closer.

If you swap Hillary with Doug Jones, I think it's a much closer race.

It's not the "this is a response to Trump's actions" result that the media seems to be hanging onto. It's Alabama's response to have its choice similar to what the 2016 election was. Maybe not so much voting FOR someone as it was voting AGAINST someone.

In an election against Hillary Clinton, I think Trump might actually get more votes in AL. Trump is Trump, and I don't care for him, but the Clinton brand has taken quite a beating since then. And HRC, as an apparent enabler of sexual assault, would struggle to exploit Trump's alleged weakness on the #metoo issue.

I don't think anyone with half a brain could look at this election and think that this was about anything more than Moore and the allegations.

It dominated the news. It was everywhere. How in the world do you not recognize this?

Less but would still win.

2012 when Romney easily won the state, Moore beat his democrat challenger 52% to 48%.

Alabama will never be in play...it’s solid red...this election was an outlier (terrible candidate).

Trump won by razor thin margins in the swing states....the concern for trump and his sychophants should be those states tipping the other way and the next dem pres candidate winning in a massive landslide in the pop vote and the EC.

Last night:

1. Democratic turnout was extremely strong
2. Republican turnout was extremely weak.
3. A larger than normal chunk of Republicans/Independents that did turn out voted against Moore or did a write in.

All 3 of those things combined to give Jones a 1.5% win...

As Trump said, a win is a win, but perfect shite storms like that don't line up very often.

Bush got 62% in 2004

McCain got 60% in 2008

Romney got 61% in 2012

Trump got 62% in 2016

So I'm guessing about 62% because that's how Alabama votes in Presidential elections. What a stupid thread.
