Orcas are very sophisticated hunters and they don't frick around when it comes to protecting their turf or establishing it either

We have a small population of them in the Gulf of Mexico. I have been fortunate enough to study them up close. I have a catalog of 46 distinct individuals that have been photographed since 1990. Many of the same whales have been sighted multiple times, in some cases over the course of 20+ years. My favorite sighting of them so far is one time we launched the small boat from our ship to get photographs and samples from them and a large male swam to the back of our boat just under the surface and looked to be checking out the props from our outboards...just stayed there for 10-15 seconds with its head next to them.

We have resident and transient pods. The ones I took photos of were transient. One of the most unreal things I've seen were a pod attacking and killing a minke whale. I can usually tell when some are in the area because the seals will hop out of the water and hang out on the floats.

Was probably trying to decide if he should eat them (the props).

Somehow, the orcas are aware of how their actions under the surface affect things above the surface.

That is some high level thinking.

From a processing and capacity - they have near human levels of intelligence. If they had a written language and opposing thumbs, they would have captive humans on display for their entertainment.

Great White sharks ain't shite.

Bull Sharks are the #1 killers when it comes to Sharks. They can live in fresh or salt water. They swim in canals, water ways, rivers.

The phenomenon of orcas feeding on white sharks actually started happening tens of thousands years ago.

It’s still interesting. But it isn’t something new. Anyone with Animal Planet is aware.
