Yep. Houston circa 1991 by some drunk Mexican. I was riding a bike downtown around midnight and there was a cop nearby window shopping at a car lot. I got his attention and he took the guy down.

Once was ambushed and held hostage by federal agents. frickers. These shits really think they own god’s ducks.

At 14, found a 3 wheeeler in the the woods. Discovered quickly it was not abandoned.

About that same year, damn farmer trying to light us up with bird shot for cutting across his field to poach on the lande next door. Bastard.

Its happened to me a few times in my life. The first time was the scariest since I was only seventeen and I had my highschool girlfriend, who was sixteen, with me at the time. We were in a park at about 10:30 at night having a bit of fun on a picnic table. It was a secluded spot and we would often sit around there at night and hang out while drinking a beer or two or just enjoying some time together. We were occupied doing our own thing and before we realized 3 black males had crept up on us and one of them had us at gunpoint. They demanded my wallet and my girlfriends purse which was sitting on the picnic table. We of course gave them what they wanted and they directed us to kneel down in front of them and face the opposite direction. I truly believed that we were about to be executed. They then told us to count backwards from 10 slowly and said if we turned around they would shoot. I started counting as I was instructed and when I got to three I heard a car door slam and tires peeling out. They had jumped into a car that was waiting for them on the street about 50yds away through some bushes. My girlfriend was absolutely hysterical and I believe I was truly in some state of shock. I was relieved it was over and we were alive but I felt so violated and angry that I literally couldn't stop shaking for a half an hour. I knew how lucky we were that it ended like it did but I also knew how badly things could have turned out and thinking about those terrible scenarios kept me awake for quite a few weeks. We later both agreed it would be best if we didnt tell our parents what happened or file a Police report since we really didn't want to explain what we were doing in a dark park at 10:30 at night.

Me and a buddy hustled some guys in pool one night at a bar. Settled the tab and left. These frickers follow us in their car and end up running us off the road. Robbed us at gunpoint. I ran across the street to some apartments to get some help as my buddy was roughed up pretty good in the crash. It was after midnight so i was banging on doors trying to wake anyone up. Well another tenant heard the commotion and drew down on me from behind and held me at gunpoint on the ground til the cops got there.

So in a span of ten mins I thought i was dying in a car wreck, at the hands of an armed robber, and a neighborhood watch board member. Pretty unsettling night.

Yeah, some drunk a-hole tried to fight me over a girl I didn’t even want or care about. She had my keys. Rushed me so I put him on the ground and made him eat the pavement. Told him I didn’t want trouble and let him up. He went back in the bar and came out with a .45 stuck in my face.

I slowly backed up, with my hands up, and said “frick this, i’m out, you win.”

Backed away until he went back inside and then called a friend to come and get me.

Scary as shite in hindsight but I think I handled it ok.

Four times in civilian life. Three were at least partly my fault. One was as one of the victims of a random violent crime.

Yes, one time I visited a friend's apartment and another friend didn't know I was coming.

Another time I was at a gas station when gunfire broke out and the shooter headed toward me.

Also at the range I got barrel flashed by someone who couldn't pull the slide back.

Yeah, I got out my car without being ordered to do so. (Because up to that point all police made me get it right away)

Another time, I was in a house that was illegally entered by undercover agents.

Another time, I mouthed off to the wrong guy.

I've never had someone not wearing a badge point a gun at me.

Had a drunk guy grab his rifle out of his truck and wave it around at several of us. He had hit a girl and a mob had gathered around him. I was more or less a spectator, but the barrel found itself pointed at me as well. The dude fired a round into the sky, got in his truck, and hauled arse. The cops pulled him over a couple of miles down the road and popped him with a DWI. Good times

Yes. As a teenage driving east on Florida Boulevard heading to Skate City. I have no idea why they did it. Drove to the police station on Sherwood Forest scared out of my mind. Fortunately they did not follow me.

Most recently, as a soldier many moons ago, but I was trained and armed properly to address those incidents.

The first time is when I was a 15 or 16 year old bag boy at the Albertsons on Florida/ Sherwood Forest. I was gathering carts from the west parking lot when I saw an old white man pointing a .38 with the hammer back on a 40ish black man who didn't seem to be doing anything wrong and looked sincerely scared for his life. I stood in front of the gun and begged the wild eyed old bastard to put the gun down, he complied. I don't know what preceded that incident, but that was a fricking stupid move on my part. At the time I felt like I was doing the right thing, and in retrospect, it may have saved that man's life. The black man quietly left in his car, so I don't think it was a robbery attempt. It was probably an argument that escalated too quickly. I probably saved that old man from dying in Angola. The old man drove away shortly after. I was left to ponder the worthiness of my $4.25/hr wage (minimum wage in 1994 or 95 when this happened.)

As a young man on the way home from LSU, I pulled over at a Winn-Dixie to pick up some things. I had two young black men ask me if I had jumper cables to get a beat up truck started. Some other guy walked up and offered to help, and he had cables. I agreed to move my car and shine lights because it was getting dark.

The jumper cables had no sooner gotten put on when cars came from everywhere and surrounded us. The two blacks immediately stuck their hands in the air. Before I could move I had a gun to the back of my head. "Don't move!" the man said. "Police."

Turned out those two young black men were escaped prisoners. And I and the other guy were inadvertently aiding and abetting their escape.

Fortunately for us, an detective had been trailing the escapees, saw the whole thing, and figured out we just two unlucky good Samaritans. They took our info down and let us go.

I still remember the feel of that gun in the back of my head. I'll never forget that.

3 times

1. As a kid I did the thing where you knock on someone’s door and run. I knocked on the wrong guys door.
2. In High School I was in the wrong Shreveport ghetto at the wrong time. Some ghetto types didn’t like that.
3. In my 30’s in the suburbs in Round Rock, TX. Some old redneck George Zimmerman dude didn’t like that I was parked outside of his house picking up a friend from bible study
