Any feedback from the OB on this rifle... in the 300 win mag?

I have one in .300 WSM. It’s a great gun for hunting, but not something you are going to want to take to the range a shoot. I’m not recoil sensitive, but 4 or 5 shots is all I want to take with mine

I prefer just the T3X Hunter in .300. The lite could be a little more recoil than you want. It isn't that big of a difference, but the T3X really does not feel that heavy to me. I have the 300 and the 308, and I love them.

Unless you are gonna be carrying it on long pack trips out West, to Alaska, etc, then get the heavier version. More fun to shoot, and your scope will stay on zero longer.

I have one in .30-06, have shot a pile of them in various calibers. All shot very good. I wouldn’t want one in .300 win mag though unless it was going to be for mountain hunts or something. That thing is not going to be fun to shoot.

No evidence to suggest this. A good mount and good scope will hold zero.

You must be an engineer

I've got a t3 hunter in 300 win mag. Really like it. Killed 2 deer last week in Oklahoma with it.
That being said, it packs a punch at the range, but nothing too bad. Overall very pleased with the gun. Bought it on the OB eurooptic deal last year.

It's the official rifle of the OB...so there's that.
But Its gonna kick like a bitch in 300wm
T3 Hunter in 270wsm here...it's Not too bad, but it's got some pop to it.

Thanks OB. I got a co-worker parting with one and I'm contemplating getting it from him.

Check of his retinas are detached
If you’re not recoil sensitive and like the rifle/caliber, buy it. It’d be a hell of a long range rifle.

I shoot a 300 WBY in an Accumark which is heavy. I would think that rifle would be unpleasant to shoot.

I think sportsmans warhouse has them on sale. I'm sure most places do this time of year
I'd love one in 30.06

I've never really understood this too much? If its a hunting gun, you don't need to love to shoot it right? I mean you take 5-10 shots a year at most with it to sight it in and get comfortable, then shoot it hunting which generally speaking recoil doesn't have much affect.
For initially sighting a gun in, you can use reduced recoil type of rounds too. Lower weight bullets, etc. then once you are very close sight in with your hunting rounds.

I have had this gun in 270 for 4 years and not one single problem with my scope holding zero.

Bought one with the OB run. Love it. Does it kick, hell yeah. Brought it to africa and guess what, never felt a single recoil when shooting an animal. Great gun. Easy to hike with.

You’re right. You do a wholeeeee lot more toting than shooting and given the choice I’ll take something that kicks hard but is light and easy to carry. It’s not like I need to be concerned with immediate follow up shots or anything. .300 win mag recoil won’t be as bad as the super Roman candle magnum duck loads people are shooting daily by the boxfull either.
It is a factor in how well some people shoot though, so it needs to be brought up. Some guys seem immune to it and some can’t handle it. It’s 100% shooting form, fit of the gun, and mental. I have a 5 pound 12ga slug gun with some 500something grain high velocity slugs and THAT is enough recoil to matter a whole lot. It hurts pretty bad to shoot offhand standing up.

Funny you say this. I was extremely recoil sensitive up until a few years. honestly, shooting a good light trigger (like a tikka) makes a big difference because you can simply squeeze and be surprised. it has helped me tremendously.
My Remmy 7400 had to be 'pulled' and made me jump every damn time.

Actually it is in a T3 Lite. I don’t know to to explain it other than it’s far more of a violent recoil than a shotgun.
