Anyone notice how every 1 loss team is ranked

Except one. USF. Who just so happens to be playing UCF next week. Can't let UCF have another top 25 win or else they'll have a better SOR than some top 10 teams.

imagine if usf was undefeated and beat ucf this week.

The committee creates what they want to create. It's bad

Once again UCF should be higher. And yes USF should definitely be ranked

I really don't see the point of a playoff if we are gonna be giving a 2 (blowout) loss Ohio State the nod over undefeated mid majors

It's doing what it intended. Giving preference to big names big money schools for the money markets.
We should have kept bcs and picked top 4 that way

not that they had a chance, but having that georgia tech game cancelled extra eliminated them

Wouldn't have mattered. Even if they beat GT they'd be ranked maybe 14.

They love the phrase "the four best teams"
Which is an all access pass to just pick whoever you want without any rhyme or reason to the process

Close losses are fine.
But you can't get blown out. Twice.
Imagine if 2007 LSU lost to Arkansas 31-16.
And then lost to Kentucky 55-24.
And almost lost another game by 1 point.
You think they'd be in the BCS title game?

What if Alabama lost to FSU 31-16
Then lost to Arkansas 55-24
I would honestly be embarrassed to stump for them to make the playoff

Would be funny if they put in Ohio state over a one loss Miami or Alabama if they lose their CCG.
"Well Ohio state won their conference."
"Yeah but Miami and Alabama have one loss"
"Doesn't matter, CCG is more important"
"Then what happened last year?"

Alabama beats Auburn, they're in.
I could easily see OSU going over Alabama if Alabama is 11-1 after this a loss this week.
I honestly wouldn't even be THAT upset. They'd have a conference title(I don't believe in these being important) and then what I think would would a great win against Wisconsin.

Indeed - if Alabama wins this week, then they are in. The wins will stack up well with anyone, and they’ll only have one potential loss against a top 10 team if they lose the SECCG.
A loss this week would be damn perilous, though. No other opportunities for high end wins.

Same thing with “eyeball test”
I agree, BCS was fine for picking the top 4 teams.

If Alabama wins OR loses this week...they are in.
Why not just take the week off and not have to play Georgia.
If Auburn wins the SEC title, Alabama is in too.
2011 had no problem with not winning your division let alone conference and the committee has shown no allegiance to that criteria beyond "4 best teams" and eyeball test.
Alabama would have to get blown out in the Iron Bowl and then Georgia would have to whip Auburn for Alabama to not be sitting pretty sitting out the SEC Champ game while being guaranteed a playoff spot by doing nothing but taking a bye week.

That said, Oklahoma is by far the best team in this scenario, and Arkansas is by far the worst. In fact, Arkansas State has a better S&P+, SRS, and FEI rating.
Using the average of SRS, FPI, FEI (assuming 22 possessions a game), and S&P+, Oklahoma and Iowa are a combined 27.7 points above average. Florida State and Arkansas are a combined 2.2 points above an average team, although FSU was better before the QB knocked out for the year mid-game.
So as embarrassing as those 2 losses were, specifically Iowa, your comparisons teams (specifically Arkansas) are way worse.
