WASHINGTON, D.C. – This Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, FCC Chairman Ajit V. Pai is expected to circulate to his fellow commissioners and make public a draft of a new FCC order widely anticipated to eliminate the “Net Neutrality” rules put in place under the Obama administration. The full commission is scheduled to vote on Pai’s draft order at its Dec. 14th meeting, and again, the FCC is expected on that date to ratify Pai’s draft order. By making the order to repeal “Net Neutrality” public in advance of the vote, Chairman Pai has instituted a new transparency initiative at the FCC that reverses the policy of the previous chairman, Obama administration FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler who typically refused to make draft orders public prior to the full FCC commission final vote.

This board will probably think it is good because of the hatred of anything Obama.
but
It can potentially lead to ISPs charging more for access to certain websites depending on the content. They could also slow down certain websites.
An example (probably extreme) that illustrates what could happen:

It's a tough debate.
On one side you have large corporations (basically monopolies) running the show, with the ability to throttle your internet if they want.
On the other side you put the gov't in control, which could potentially kill the free market (although a very tough market to penetrate).
I usually lean towards giving the gov't as little control as possible.
It's tough though.

If it’s from the government and sounds really good aka ‘affordable healthcare’, ‘net neutrality’, etc.
Bet the house it’s the opposite.

WTF are you even talking about? This is bad.

Federal regulators unveiled a plan Tuesday that would give Internet providers broad powers to determine what websites and online services their customers can see and use, and at what cost.

Slow down means they control the flow of traffic
The will have to right to prioritize traffic. NN ensured every piece of traffic was treated the same.
They will charge you more to make sure certain websites or services are usable.

Currently, ISPs are not allowed to regulate the speed at which your internet works based on what site you visit. This is called Net Neutrality. ISPs are a neutral party providing equal access to all sites at the same speed.
If NN goes away, the ISP can put a governor on the speed at which your internet works for specific sites. Like, if AT&T wanted to start their own streaming services, they could slow down access to Hulu and Netflix to the point that it becomes unfeasible to use those services on AT&T internet.

And hand it over to Comcast, which has a lower approval rating than the IRS.

The big-government-regulator mindset in a nutshell.
It MIGHT happen, so let's create a bureaucracy.
How about we wait until it DOES happen, craft the policy based on the facts, and then hold violators accountable?

Under NN, all websites have to be treated the same by the ISPs. Netflix is basically no different than TigerDroppings in the eyes of the ISP.
If NN goes away, the ISP can basically say well Netflix is a premium site so our users should pay $5 more a month to access but TigerDroppings's PoliBoard is complete shite so we will won't allocate as much speed to it. But, the user can pay a $5 fee for the "access to shite sites" tier and the PoliBoard will be accessible an normal speeds.
It is a complete "could happen" scenario. There is way to know whether a ISP would actually do it.
