I am not one to get "triggered" or offended easily. I was browsing facebook and a post from the Louisiana Whitetails hunting group came across. A man had gut shot a coyote and was bragging in the comments how he purposely gut shoots them so that they run off to die and he does not have to pick them up. He was proud as shite. Do people not realize how this behavior makes hunters look? It's one thing to be an idiot in your own vacuum but he is smearing the sport and publicizing it. He had every opportunity to humanely kill the coyote yet out of laziness decided to make it suffer. I told him as much and he dug in and tried to defend himself then ended up deleting any comments calling him out for it.

Does this aggravate the hell out of anybody else? Hunters don't make up much of the population, stupid shite like intentional gut shots can turn somebody who doesn't care about hunting in to an anti hunter.

I hear people talking about gut shooting hogs too, I dont agree with it. Hell it may run about 100 yards of your stand and die. I just shoot them and haul them off. It isnt that much work.

I despise coyotes, but prob need to keep it off facebook when you gut shoot them.

Yes, it's pathetic. There are some seriously awful "hunters" out there. On the bright side it seems that their numbers are diminishing though. Hopefully that trend will continue.

I don't purposefully do it, but if I make an imperfect shot on a boar, I just shrug and go on with my life. he was going to be vulture/possum food anyway. I certainly don't initiate a Facebook post about it.

You sure? This is the second thread in two weeks you've started bitching about other hunters. Not to mention the one you started bitching about people buying nice trucks. For someone who doesn't get triggered easily you sure do bitch a lot.

complaining does not mean triggered.

also, this is something that can have an impact on the sport of hunting as a whole. Of course i'm going to bitch when people broadcast stupid shite that can turn people in to enemies of the sport.

there is a world of difference between doing it on accident or doing it on purpose. Sooner or later somebody will make a bad shot. To do it on purpose and then broadcast it is what was bad about this feller.

x1000. We already have enough people against hunting, and at least half of them for no good reason. No sense in giving them one.

I don't have cats, or any pets for that matter. Nor do I like coyotes.

But I agree with Celltech. Gut shooting coyotes and then bragging about it is stupid. I'll shoot a yote in a heartbeat if I see one, but I'm not going to gut shoot it.

Don't have any. Is hunting about the kill or the journey?
Do you respect nature as a whole or just the part you find useful?

I keep checking back in on this thread to see if cave canem has posted his 43,285,374 facts about coyote incidents.

If he doesn't then I might have to. Brace yourselves.

The only reason not to gut shoot a coyote is because I prefer to see them die

Good, the problem isn't with people shooting them. It's purposely being inhumane. They aren't some evil creature that needs to suffer for eating a chicken.

gut shot allows them an opportunity to go say their goodbyes to their family.
