I have thought about it and have openly expressed my opinion in writing.

So have others.

Good for us.

no its not. we aren't under any obligation to go yapping to every person you see throw a cigarette butt out the window. Just cause you don't publicly show your disgust and opposition doesn't make you a consenter to littering.

I disagree with that.

People speed all the time and I do not call the police.

I am certainly not consenting to speeding though.

Speed kills.

It's an ethics issue, so even a game warden doesn't have authority to do anything about it. Ethics issues are on the community. If something is unethical, it's on the community to call it out. That's the only way anything changes.

That's what our opponents are arguing right now. Hunting is unethical in their eyes, and should be banned.

Ethics and morality lie within us.

We can't invoke the same things that we live by on others.

It just doesn't work that way nor will it matter.

Raise your kids, not your neighbors.

One problem with this: speed limits are legally set. Gut shooting a hog and allowing it to have a drawn out death is an ethical matter.

Besides, that's an asinine comparison. What cop is going to write a ticket because you said someone was speeding? It's not the same.

Those are your ethics about shooting.

Not everyone else.

You don't get to make the rules about shooting anything.

Couldn't disagree more with that. You aren't born ethical. You are taught what is and isn't ethical.

Of course I was taught that way.

You can't teach everyone though.

I was in Gilroy CA this past weekend on a pheasant hunt.

Private club.

Lead shot was used by all.

CA are weirdos about everything environmental (see plastic shopping bag ban).

Some things just don't make sense.

Who am I to try and stop the nonsense?

if you can't see the difference in what i did with purposefully wounding an animal and boasting about it online then something is wrong with you.

Sounds more like you just don't want to piss off some rich guys by calling them out. But again, that is actually a legal matter, not an ethical one.

Hell, earlier this year, I was out scouting a public field for doves the morning of the opener. In Louisiana, public fields do not open until noon on opening day. Five guys were obviously walking out to hunt, with guns and ammo, the whole 9 yards. I flagged the guys down and let them know before they made a mistake they very likely would have regretted.

But I guess by your logic, I should have just minded my own business and let those guys get in trouble? Again, a legal, not ethical matter, but it's no different than your private club example.

Also, chadboy must not know what "negligence" is. A guy purposely shooting a yote in the gut is not negligence. A guy failing to adequately sight in a rifle is.

Lead shot is more of an ethical problem to me than a legal problem.

Lead, being a heavy metal, is a drastic thing to the ecosystem. Along with cadmium and arsenic and all of the other heavy metals found in the soil and air caused by humanity.

But again, my ethics aren't king.

Also, I'm not too big on hunting public land because of the idiots who abound.

I choose not to get shot so I distance myself away.

Sherburne WMA is an incredible asset to LA.

But it is chock full of idiots. The gun range has grown into incompetence.

I don't go anymore because of that.

My choice. My distance.

I can ping ping ping all day at the Sheriff patrolled range in Gonzales LA when I feel the need.

My M21 ain't gonna shoot itself.
