Sounds like a shared backyard and none of the dogs were on a leash. Your neighbor & his dog for that matter have just as much right to the yard as you & your dogs. You have no case here IMO. You're lucky the neighbor has offered to cover expenses because it doesn't look like he is liable for it.

If I were your neighbor, I would have apologized for my dogs behavior but as far as vet bills & such I would have told you to kiss my arse.

You HAVE to have his dog impounded/checked for rabbis shots.

The bites are concerning on your wife's hands. If course you would win a suit against his homeowners insurance, if he has it.

But be careful, you could cause entire dog situation to be revisited by association (if one exists). You could also sue association....and use the award for the new house you need

My wife and I have two dogs, both around 35 pounds. We live in a duplex house in Dallas and our neighbor has a dog that’s about 45 pounds. He is pretty standoffish in general and never lets his dog out in the backyard while we are out there. Today, we found out why.

My wife was letting our dogs piss before we left the house to go take care of things for today. I heard screams and ran outside to find the neighbors dog have one of my dogs pinned to the ground by the throat. I’ve seen dogs wrestle before, but nothing like this. That dog was trying to kill mine. His idiot girlfriend let the dog into the backyard without checking. Me, my wife, and neighbor finally were able to pull the dogs apart. My dog shite on me because she was so scared and my wife got some bites on her hand. Neighbors hand was pretty fricked up from ripping his dog off.

Neighbor has offered to cover all vet and medical costs. I’m still furious. What’s my next move, baws?

TL;DR - Neighbor is banging an idiot woman with a POS dog that got out.

Animals are going to do shite like that. It sounds like your neighbor went out of his way to make it right. What else do you want? A million dollars?

Get this done and in writing, and deal with the dog situation later.

better to get shite paid for and taken care of, rather than going through pissing matches, and lawyers. U can always kick his teeth in another day.

A little tip for helping separate fighting dogs:

Spray them with the water hose. Works every time.

Make sure you go to Dr. for injuries. I think the dog has to be reported by Dr. for attack. When dog does it again, it will be put down. If no report, nothing can be done.

I'd say that is nice of them to offer, where they have no legal reason to do so, it is shared common ground and something like this was bound to happen anyway.

Never understood people who break up a dog fight with their hands.

Kick the frickers.

You only have 1 option. You need to buy a sexually mature male baboon. Tie him out in the backyard. He will kill the neighbors dog, the neighbor, and frick his girlfriend. You should watch out though, he’ll probably put alpha your beta arse and end up fricking your wife before his rampage is over.

Stop being a bitch about everything. Dogs fight. The neighbor is covering expenses. That should be the end of it.
