Fox News host Shepard Smith blasted President Trump on Tuesday for “inaccurate” claims about the Uranium One agreement following Trump’s repeated calls for the Justice Department to investigate the deal.
...
The Fox News anchor also detailed Trump’s claim that the Clinton Foundation received money after the deal was completed.
“Here, the timing is inaccurate,” Smith said, noting that the source of the majority of the donations, Frank Giustra, said he sold his stake in the uranium company before the company was sold and before Clinton became secretary of State.
“The accusation is predicated on the charge that Secretary Clinton approved the sale,” Smith said. “She did not. A committee of nine evaluated the sale, the president approved the sale, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and others had to offer permits, and none of the uranium was exported for use by the U.S. to Russia. That is Uranium One.”
Someone needs to pull Shep to the side and let him know that Fox viewers don't really like being told the truth.

Dems are scurred. Let's just investigate it and get to the bottom of it. What's wrong with that?

It is of today's convenience to pretext every news article or challenge to the left as Trump instigated however that is not Truth.

The technical legality of it is irrelevant. Either Russia is our enemy and they shouldn’t even be profiting off of our Uranium or they’re not. You can’t have it both ways.
But let’s be honest, Russia didn’t become an enemy of the United States until they needed a scapegoat for losing the election. That’s all this Russians nonsense is. Nothing else, nothing more.

And there is no way the f'n Secretary of State could have stopped this sale - it was entirely in the hands of the Deputy SecState to make the decision. HRC was livid that we were selling off any of our uranium to the evil Russkies when the RESET had put them back in there place. NOPE - her hands were tied, she clawed and scratched behind the scene to try and influence her DEP from signing that treasonous doc. Yep - she was completely uninvolved.
But she did enjoy all the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ the guilt ridden Russkies deposited in her money laundering scheme.
You got it Shep - good job.

Shep seems confused on the allegations.

You left out the part where Shep touted a dem line.... you know the one that states uranium never left the USA.

Al Capone was innocent. He wasn't actually connected to anything except being a bad tax preparer. It's outrageous that some still try and slander that good man. Same thing with Hillary. That wonderful patriot is being slandered.

WTF.....I love Fox News now.

It is not the issue of selling uranium so much as the the issue of Clinton profiting off her position in government. Their practice of collecting money for their "foundation" and Bill collecting huge speaking fees, from people doing business with the State Dept., is seedy at a minimum, likely unethical, and possibly illegal.

it really is amazing the clockwork consistency you can time this place with how the usual suspects will fall all over themselves to buy into the latest red meat conspiracy to distract and keep the base riled up about the right’s political enemies.
Birther-gate(which gained Trump a lot of his endearing notoriety), 13 Benghazi investigations, the scandal at the non-existent Comet pizza basement, Obama tapping my phones, Seth Rich, and now we have Uranium One.
A completely non-sensical conspiracy that requires an abandonment of reason and logic that almost puts to shame what came before it.
That somehow Clinton, who there isn’t even evidence was involved in the review of this sale, was somehow engaged in a quid pro quo, primarily with a donor that left the company years before the sale, a year before she had even lost the nominee and became Secretary of State. A sale we should make note is between a Canadian company and a Russian company. That only consists of a small amount of America’s produced uranium and less than a quarter of its capacity, primarily for energy. All America had the capacity to do was deny the sale of a fraction of the business portfolio being transferred that resides in the US. Which based on all evidence would not of prevented the sale had it been denied. A transfer that could only actually be dissaproved by the president, only reviewed by numerous agencies for recommendation. Including a non-government nuclear agency and a regulatory body in the state of Utah, a Republican dominated state. A sale that isn’t actually transferring American mined uranium to Russia because of export laws. For a resource the world is awash in already. That if the right was really so enormously concerned about the national security implications, could try to step in to take legaslative or administrative action. But somehow Clinton, years before this sale was even considered, engaged in a quid pro quo knowing she would lose the nomination, get picked by Obama to be SOS, than somehow convince numerous agencies and all their staff to approve the sale for the benefit of some Canadian donors, including convincing a Republican state and non-government agency and the president. Which somehow is also evidence of collusion with Russia. Yeah, makes perfect sense.
The key seems to be taking something righties are wholly unfamiliar with like the national security review and approval process of a sale of uranium resources mined in the US, or unmasking, or how FISA courts work, or cyber hacking, or how basements work; never explain the ins and outs to the audience in an honest way, than fill the knowledge gaps with the conspiracy and innuendo you want them to believe. Let it play out and build up until the lie can no longer be sustained, than you just drop it and move onto the next manufactured scandal.
I give the shelf life of this one more month at best. Maybe it sticks around if some more Mueller indictments come out and Trump needs a handy distraction. Since once pushed, Sessions already testified yesterday that there is currently no factual basis justified to warrant a special counsel. He’s basically just playing nice with that vague innuendo for his boss to get his brownie points.

Frank Guistra didn't have any stake in Uranium One when HRC was Secretary but Ian Telfer was Chairman of Uranium One during that time (2009-2013) and donated over $2M to the Clinton Foundation while she was in that seat.
Good selective journalism, Shep!

So you and others have never answered this question. IF the Russians are our enemy and are horrible (see collusion), Then why would the Obama admin allow a Russian company to control 20% of our Uranium?

quote:Smith is 100% wrong, AKA lying.
“The accusation is predicated on the charge that Secretary Clinton approved the sale,” Smith said.
The accusation is predicated on the charge that Secretary Clinton illicitly profiteered off of the transaction.
Now obviously, the latter must be proven.
But Shep is throwing strawmen up for progs faster than a hayfield at harvest

Spot on! He gets accused anti-Trump; I guess though he is pro-truth minus all the other BS. Well done Shep.
