I believe the only other applicant was the assistant head of security at the Mall of Louisiana.

Lt. Col. Murphy Paul was one of the troopers involved in the Vegas trip overtime debacle.

In what capacity? There were 4 on the trip - Derrell Williams, Rodney Hyatt, Thurman Miller, and Alexandr Nezgodinsky.

No. There were many more. Just those 4 were caught taking a detour to Vegas. The whole California trip looked more like a 3-day vacation.

It wasn't wrong-doing to go on the trip. The side trip is where shite went sideways. He was not involved in the side trip.

So I get that....if you want to claim the trip was frivolous and should never have been taken by anyone except for Edmundson and maybe his family I get that.

Picture this....if your boss comes and tells you hey guy I'm getting an award in Vegas...I want you to come out there to the ceremony to support me. Are you going to say no?

Picture this. I was told by someone at LSP who was in a position to know that someone else was supposed to get that award until Edmonson found out the conference was in San Diego. They then scratched the other guy and substituted Edmonson.

Here is some background on that:

quote:

Sources close to the story have told LouisianaVoice that New Orleans based State Police Maj. Carl Saizan, a 33-year State Police veteran and former Louisiana State Trooper of the Year, was originally nominated for the award but that the nomination had to pass through Edmonson for his stamp of approval. Instead, Saizan’s nomination was mysteriously scratched in favor of….Edmonson. Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) Secretary Dr. Shawn Wilson ultimately signed off on Edmonson’s nomination.

I’m not worried about what color his skin is, LeDuff was a damn good Chief

Personally I’d like to see Myron Daniels get it but I don’t think he will handle things like SWB wants

It’s going to be who is willing to play her games

I sure hope he knows what he is getting himself into.

The front lines are not as black and white as Highway Patrol and Regulatory investigations.

So you're saying Edmundson went up to him and said hey I want you to come take this work trip with me that could get us in trouble and cost us our jobs.

Exactly. I don't care what color our next chief is, as long as he is a true police officer and not a thug hugger like SWB wants. The chances of us getting a chief who is tough on NBR crime is practically 0%, though.

That fricker is raking in over $150k for the LSP. What does the BRPD Chief position pay? Damn.

ETA: I decided not to be lazy. Found that Dabadie was making $146k as of 2016.

He's definitely in it for the power of the position, not the money. He'd be taking a pay cut, especially if you account for all of the hours of bullshite the BRPD chief has to go through in this city to appease its retarded citizens and officials. I always felt like Dabadie spent 12 hours per day trying to unsuccessfully explain why its not racist to arrest someone after they commit a crime.

I'd imagine he's working pretty standard hours in his current LSP position.

Then he's more of a dumbass than I thought. Or he knows something that we don't.

So you're saying the head of the Criminal Investigations Bureau of LSP couldn't figure that out for himself? Dude, just give up.
