I love pitchers duels, but these games are always fun

I have no problem in neutering the slider... it's the one pitch that hitters can't touch when thrown well..

Gorilla ball trumps small ball all day, any day.

MLB isn't stupid. They know what the fans want to see. Home runs pay the bills

Yes. The balls are different. It has been talked about all playoffs. I’d like to think they have same guts, but leather on outside does appear slicker.

And the balls may be part of it, but there has been a huge transition in swing mechanics as well. There is such an emphasis on home runs that guys have changed their swing planes/paths to create more lift on impact. The lift angle on some of these are crazy.

I like some good gorilla ball as well, but I also wouldn't mind seeing a guy have to try and do some base running every now and then. Ya know. Maybe take a fricking lead at first every so often

Games 1-4 all went under the total through 9 innings.

Game 2 only went over because of extra innings.

Enjoy it. This is much more intriguing than 2-0 games.

To be fair, Puig is an absolute freak.

And it’s necessary for a baseball renaissance. Casual fans love watching offense and the long ball. MLB has to make a change to gear it more towards that like the NFL with offensive rules and the Warriors model in the NBA.
People go to have fun, and they just don’t have as much in a 2-1 pitchers duel. This is great for baseball regardless of what any here personally like

Balls have been juiced the last two years. It's not a secret.

Or is this just an excuse by the pitchers at THIS point. (Not saying they are liars, but is there any proof yet?)

Whats going on here?

Fangraphs tested the balls and didn't find anything. The Ringer (I believe) tested them and said the seams were of shorter height, which reduced drag and the ability of pitchers to create movement.

Baseball hasn't said shite, but it's pretty obvious something changed. The players have also changed their approach for the most part. Higher launch points, way more strikeouts, and a wave of 3 true outcome batters also have contributed.

It was easily the least deserving of all home runs so far tonight. So yes, I picked that one

And not Puig's one handed back swing low and away HR?

Just a reminder, game 4 was 1-1 going into the 9th, with 5 total hits in the game, and saw two 4th in the rotation guys pitch gems through 6 innings. They didn't seem to mund the balls.

That being said, yeah it's obvious the balls have changed, and if baseball wants more fans, they'll keep it that way. This series has been amazing to watch, and i rarely watch baseball.

You would like to think it is some conspiracy to hit the NFL while it is down. But it was probably just some goof at the baseball factory and no one noticed till it was too late. Employee probably went from terminated to bonuses and promotions.
