I think the MLB went just a touch overboard on the new balls

I know both team's pitchers have been complaining about the balls. (apparently they got slicker for the world series). It also appears they installed miniature trampolines in them as well. I mean the number of home runs is getting absurd. That last Correa homer left the bat as a routine fly ball and just carried it's way out of there. He almost couldn't even believe it

Excuse my ignorance, but did the MLB actually state they were using new balls?
Or is this just an excuse by the pitchers at THIS point. (Not saying they are liars, but is there any proof yet?)

Whats going on here?

Helps having a left field be only 315 ft.

Of all the homers to use as an example, you pick this?

I mean, this is a hitters park. All it takes to hit a HR is a 315 foot ball to left.

It was easily the least deserving of all home runs so far tonight. So yes, I picked that one

Correa is massive, of course he can hit bombs to left field that would be popups for other guys

Imagine the type of numbers Sir Barrold Bonds would have put up with these balls. He would have hit 70+ HRs every year even while being walked 200+ times.

There were 11 parks with more home runs than minute made during the 2017 regular season and dodger stadium only had 9 less homers during the regular season

Touché. Good factual rebuttal. I like it

I mean I'm not bitching about the dingers as much as I'm just pointing out that something has got to be up with the balls. We're thru 4 and 3/4 games and we're one home run away from the all time world series record.

Make home runs great again. Nobody likes 2-1 bunt fest pitcher's duels. More scoring is a good thing.

MLB set a record for HR this year by 408 HR. This is the future of baseball.
