IE, what are their proposals that they feel would have stopped or likely stopped what happened in LV?

I mean, if you're going to stand on people's bodies and propose legislation, it ought to at least be legislation you can reasonably connect to having likely saved those bodies.

I'm not saying none of their proposals might directly speak to the incident. But right now, all they seem to be doing is jumping around on top of bodies and yelling "Bad Republicans, Bad!!!"

ETA: I should emphasize that I am not opposed to ALL ideas on guns.

Yeah. I'm likely opposed to the vast majority.

But, it's not some default position.

Sell your ideas. But sales means at the least.

1. Specific proposal
2. How it would actually help....SPECIFICALLY

Fewer people would be dead if he had to stop more often to reload. No practical purpose for a high capacity magazine other than inflicting high numbers of casualties in a short amount of time. 2nd amendment argument is nonsense because the people who wrote it were using muzzle loaders.

That seems like a smart place to start.

So you'd have no issues applying this logic to the first amendment as well?

Freedom of speech on the internet is nonsense because the people who wrote it were using a manual printing press amirite?

I've been calling for a ban on murder for years - Murder control. Why do we waste time with gun control when we can just have murder control? That would take care of bombings, stabbing, poisoning, etc . My proposal involves passing a new federal law outlawing murder so we can finally live in peace . And I think that if people were less racist and more like me ( a wonderful person) they would agree. But because they suck and are bought and paid for by the NRA and hate women and gays they will disagree. We should kill them.

The OP asked a question. This guy answered. He may or may not be on YOUR side his answer was bland. Maybe he’s playing devils advocate. He’s immediately attacked. That’s why this board can be a shitshow. As can the country.

To answer OP.

A. As mentioned. Magazine restriction.

B. Background checks. Deeper background checks.

C. Bump Stocks are definitely a new buzz word that’s on the table. Big target on its back.

D. Other modifications to triggers made illegal.

E. Get ready for heads to explode. Set limit of AR style weapons one can possess. And amount of ammunition.(impossible to police). But I can see a valid ID needed for ammo. Just like for a gun purchase. For the purpose of tracking how many rounds you have.

That’s enough to make you all hate me.

Again I am just answering a question. FTR I am a gun owner. Semi auto pistol and two shotguns. I’ve never wanted an AR style for myself, but would take one if it was given to me. Lol

The left proposes strict gun laws and open borders.... let that sink in
Buying cocaine in LV is as easy as buying M&Ms at the circle K.
Cocaine, the last time I checked is totally illegal.
Could someone interview Lamar Odom and ask him how the hell did he manage to get Cocaine when our laws clearly state that it's illegal?!

Yes you are correct, but ones right to protect and defend their lives and the lives of their loved ones were faced with someone with a muzzle loader on the other side. Now in a worse case scenario you could have a group of bad guys invading your home, all of which may have high capacity clips in their guns. Meanwhile you want the average American to be regulated to a clip that holds what 8, 10, maybe 12 rounds? Times change so should common sense.

Fact still remains the same, guns don't kill people, bad guys/gals do. I'd rather have responsible gun owners around when the crap hits the fan, giving myself and others around me a better chance at surviving.

No it's not. There are already valid laws on the books restricting what types of firearms you can legally own. Expanding that to high capacity magazines is an easy step to take that would at least keep these crazy fricks from killing as many people when they snap.

From a quick google search it seems like anything over 10 rounds is considered "high-capacity" by most legal jurisdictions. I'm good with that number.

Limit sales of high capacity magazine. Limit number of semi autos each person can purchase/own.

Sorry, but you shouldn't be able to walk into a gun store and buy enough ammo to hit 600 people. The only time you need that much ammo is if you're a mass murderer.

Ever heard of competition shooting? You easily put 500 to 1,000 rounds down range, sometimes daily...

Shows just how little you think you know...

1) Digital purchase records and records of background checks to identify unusual purchases.

2) bump stocks and slide triggers illegal.

3) limits on types of rifles.

We shouldn't politicize any tragedies (unless the shooter was Muslim or liberal).

I'm still waiting on ANYBODY to answer:

1) How many were murdered LEGALLY?
2) How many were wounded LEGALLY?
3) How many had their lives endangered LEGALLY?
4) If gun restrictions are so all important why has no significant legislation been proposed before now?

P.S.
The only people protected by the actual gun laws are those in law offices who can duck and cover behind the volumes of books on gun laws.

What would a “deeper background check” turned up here?

The guy was a fricking ghost as far as we can tell. No legal problems or mental health issues we know about.

The only known oddity is the number of weapons he had purchased but not the timeframe they were purchased over. 20+ weapons in a week would be odd. 20+ weapons over 30 years not so much.
