USC was probably a little overrated. Outside of drumming what looks to be just an OK Stanford team, they have been pretty sluggish is their other games. Almost like last night was just a matter of time.

That shouldn't take anything away from WSU. Leach has built a solid team. He might be great at a "bigger" school, but he scares AD's because you just don't know what he'll say or do and he doesn't particularly care about what the AD wants him to do

Leach was invited to come interview for the job as he lives in Key West. He shows up for interview in shorts and flip flops and Miami said no on the spot. I don't think Leach cared at all.

Urban legend

"But you wouldn’t believe the tall tales that came out of that whole deal, like how Leach supposedly showed up for the interview in a Hawaiian shirt and a pair of flip-flops and how he spooked Hurricanes officials with some of his wild answers.

“No, no, nothing like that,” said Paul Dee,"

Interview was in '06 BTW not last year

Sounds like he wanted the job pretty bad.

USC is so overrated and the poster child of why pre/early season rankings are a joke......that said it's hard not to like Leach when he's winning, when he's not doing so well is act can get old quick.

You have got to be kidding. Leach and LSU fans would be a really bad combo. We seriously could not deal with him.

He's a great coach and I'm surprised a program bigger than Washington State or Texas Tech hasn't hired him.

i really think hes one of the few that doesnt want to be at a major program and really likes what he has in his little outpost on the palouse away from all of major college football

Except he's begged for jobs and paid his own way to interviews

He knows he's at the only place that will take him in P5

He wanted jobs while at tech. I think after everything he went through at tech spoiled him on a lot

Think it helped him to stop lying to AD President and his players?

Well he was getting fired even if that didn't happen. James was stupid in that deal I agree.

Myers had enough of him as did the President

ESPN was slobbering all over USC's Darnold.

My favorite part from last was when USC's running back broke off that massive 85yd TD.

...ESPN still found a way to zoom in on Darnold and give him credit

He's only a fit at certain schools. WSU is a great fit for him. I remember when UW fired Ty Willingham they brought Leach and his wife into Seattle for an interview and were leaning towards hiring him. Apparently he butchered it so badly that he wasn't even in consideration anymore. He's a very strange guy. Awesome for fans, but school administrators have a hard time getting past that.

You just need to give him a chance to build the program. He's been there since 2012 and he's just now got Wazzou competing in the Pac 12 again. The SEC wouldn't have given him a chance.

Ole miss

Arkansas

Tennessee

Auburn

I'd say Arkansas or Ole Miss
