I don't think white trumps black, for one.
I didn't explain well enough, that's my fault.

I was referencing the privilege that comes with each attribute that I mentioned.

Of course rich black people still face social injustice. People are dicks, man. That will never change.

Trying to speak for all black people is wrong, especially when you're white. He can't speak for all black people like you can't speak for all white people, but it's not stopping you. You're a hypocrite and saying that about him is very very insulting and deserves a ban imo.

It was sarcasm, but nobody has really spelled it out. We are stupid for not acknowledging the problem. We are stupid for not understanding we have privilege. With that said, nobody ever says what we can do about it.

It's a million dollar question. I think acknowledging it, however petty it may seem, helps keep the dialogue peaceful, and that's a good thing.

So if every white person accepted their advantages tomorrow, what changes

Honest question
You'd probably see a lot more acceptance/understanding, so you'd see less racial tension and actual race wars like we've seen the past couple of months.

Now if you're just saying just because they accept it doesn't mean some folks aren't still super racist, then yea, nothing changes.

To be fair those don't break down degrees. I had hardly no black kids in my accounting undergrad or graduate classes. Same for engineering and those are two higher earning degrees. I'm not trying to poo on your overall point, but that data isn't really definitive.

Yeah there are other controls you'd like to see, but none that are perfect. You can look at no diploma at all and see a discrepancy, and diploma only and see one as well.

What I am saying is even if we honestly accepted it, the economic status and single parent household within the black community wil still exist

You don't think long term, there would be a single improvement in race relations?

Sure, accepting it doesn't make problems go away, but it's a start.

It took a bunch of white dudes 20 pages to acknowledge white privilege exists to some degree, so you can see how/why it would be a roadblock for any true racial discussions.

Not that you do this, but the problem is people will see " See there's a wage gap. Racist!!!" And then shut their ears. Same with the gender wage gap. They'll use similar data without accounting that teaching (a comparitvely low paying job) is dominated by females while engineering is dominated by makes. It's all so dishonest that you can't really believe any of it.

Where you are confused I think is none of us have denied that white privilege exists in the definition of the term, but I still hold that it doesn't exist in the way or culture describes it nightly all over tv stations.

I've been the only white guy in my last 2 jobs. I worked with and hired mexicans, africans and syrians.
I am the least racist person there is.

but by all means, keep trolling.

Pretty sure that studies that control for degrees still show some gap, albeit smaller.

A smidge of a smidge on a smidge birds arse

Hell, it may make race relations worse

If I asked you in 2006, do you think a majority white America electing a black president will help race relations, you, myself, and 99.9% of people would have said yes no brainer

Somehow it got worse

Generational responsibility is WAY more important/valuable than so called white privilege.

The problem is that the left wants to blur the things that actually makes someone achieve. Well actually they want to remove the former from the discussion and just claim "privilege" to be solely based on being white. Which of course isn't something we control.

Liberalism 101. Don't focus on what we can actually control. Blame failure on something or someone else.
