he problem is that the left wants to blur the things that actually makes someone achieve. Well actually they want to remove the former from the discussion and just claim "privilege" to be solely based on being white. Which of course isn't something we control.

Liberalism 101. Don't focus on what we can actually control. Blame failure on something or someone else.
shel, this is my bigger point. Do I agree white people have advantages? Yes

However I think it is being used as a false flag by politicians for personal gain, and as a crutch by others

I would rather focus our efforts on things that will truly help

I think the problem is, as a whole(or maybe just the vocal majority) only focuses on the ones you speak of, which leave the black people who truly want unity and justice and all that good stuff...their voices go unheard.

The kneeling thing is a perfect example. We ignore what they want to fight for and only focus on the kneeling. And I think the kneeling is the wrong way to go about it as well, so i'm not innocent there, but again it just deflects from what they're actually trying to to and the point they're trying to get across.

Come on, man.

It'd be irresponsible for us to agree/acknowledge what's being laid out without first figuring out exactly what both sides mean by white privilege.

It took 20 pages for everyone to sift through everything in order to come to some degree of agreement. It took 20 pages for everyone to understand each other better.

You saying it took 20 pages for a bunch of white dudes to admit they have white privilege is the EXACT reason why us white dudes didn't say, "frick yeah we have that shite" on page 1.

Ok, so the road block is out of the way.

Could someone please tell me what can be done about this? is it not just a cultural phenomenon? A zero sum game?

Oddly enough, by acknowledging white privilege, I am suggesting that I, indeed, am higher up on the totem pole of life than blacks. I thought this is what we wanted to avoid. Are people with white privilege supposed to be chomping at the bits to relinquish it? This world has constantly had people fighting for some supremacy, whether it is political, religious, militaristic, etc. Now we are being told that posturing is wrong?

My privilege acknowledgement doesn't make the inner-cities safer. It doesn't create better schools in poverty stricken areas. It also doesn't make the family life better when daddy gets busted for selling drugs.

I ignore the kneeling because almost all examples of "police brutality" are bullshite.

I don't think that's true at all. I think most white people know what it's about, but recognize that it's idiotic. If they were being massacred in the streets by police, I doubt their kneeling would be a big issue.

You ever think it may be there fault for picking a controversial way to protest not the people that disagree with them kneeling. And I'm in the same boat as you. I don't agree with it, but if their bosses say they can do it then they can do it. If the owners start losing money from it, though, they gave to be prepared to be cut and can't cry racism.

You uncovered what's called the rub. Its like when some claim that voter ID laws are racist because minorities aren't as capable as whites to go out and get a freakin ID. I mean how completely racist is that broad assumption about minorities. Blacks should be pissed off at that assessment of them.

Dems are scapegoating blacks to pander illegal immigrant votes and black people are ok with it. I agree with you.

Lester, I'm not saying it's right to want to be on top at the expense of others...but do you see the Trumps, Bill Gates, and Paul Allens of the country ready to give up so much of their assets that they lose 100% control of their business and industries?

I agree we have a police brutality problem in this country.

I'd agree some of our citizens feel that they are profiled and harassed unnecessarily. I don't have the facts on these incidents.

Not sure how to feel on the police killings. Most victims I've heard about are found to be felons and/or disobeying lawful orders at the time of the shootings.

The media isn't helping matters by posting clean cut pictures of the Sterlings and Martins of the world and not letting us in on the true facts. That's just as divisive as what the President seems to be doing.

Don't know how to fix it.

Nah, the kneeling is a terrible example. If you're protesting for some cause, it's not my fault that your protest is so far removed from the cause that it distorts the message. A protest that began on shaky grounds of police brutality has turned into a discussion of whether kneeling during the anthem dishonors veterans and shits on America. That's not our fault, that's on Kaepernick et al.

"Our country is an embarrassment to the world."

Think about that. With all the heinous acts that go on in the Middle East, North Korea, Russia, and so on, the US is the embarrassment.

Interesting position considering this cock face gets paid $6 million to coach basketball.
