Mississippi State's biggest win against a ranked team since 1943

LSU's worst loss to an unranked opponent since 1942

LSU's worst loss to Mississipi State ever

It was a Curley Hallman-esque performance and a historic loss

Exactly

The melt wouldn't be close to this if we had lost by 3.

But that game was over after Ms State scored on the opening drive after the half and then we went 3 and out.

It's not the loss. It is how we lost.

Time will tell, it always does

Rankings on week 3 mean jack shite. This is irrelevant to me

Losing to State in general is embarrassing - can't defend that one.

Yes, it is. It will count as one loss, and nothing is off the table for the season. The rest of the emotional, anecdotal crap is just stuff "fans" like you add to make it seem like a bigger deal than it is. Whether we lost by 1 or 30, we still lost.

I'd be willing to bet when Jimbo lost by 43 against Louisville that set some FSU and Louisville records.

Also would bet when USC lost by 50+ to Bama that set some records, too.

Don't disagree. But its September 19th. Do you hope we lose out or do you hope we turn it around?

nope. I saw "fundamental" issues that makes this not a "just 1 game". Specifically:

- many players quit on the field.

- freshmen aren't being brought up to speed fast enough. Not an easy task... but is a required task nonetheless.

- Not enough upperclassmen leading, especially on the sideline. If Arden Key tells you as a freshman "do it this way", you listen. But when they are sitting on the sideline instead of in their ears, you as a freshman feel alone. In a game like that where you might be saying to yourself "I did what I was told" or "I did it right, but it's not working" you have a leadership problem.

- Focus and preparedness were lacking. 100% on coaches. All of them. When on the sidelines no one is stepping up, you got a problem. When players are waiting/hoping someone else is going to make a play (saw plenty of that), you have a problem.

I am not an O supporter. Period. However, the reality is we are in serious trouble due to the talent and depth we have in the trenches. I don't care who is coaching, hard to win with the shite we have there.
I agree with this. Miles (and his assistants) got us here. However, I personally don't think I've seen enough by CEO (and his assistants) to say we are on our way to correct it. Yes, some corrections have been done. More could have been done, not alot, but more. It's critical enough to success where everything possible should have been done.

1. We have severe roster issues. I'm not putting that on O. I don't know wtf we have been doing regarding roster management.

2. Mississippi State in the Mullen era is better than than they've ever been. This may be his best team yet.

3. College football has changed. You can't really compare historical results from over a decade ago because of the novel offenses. As others have stated, FSU got blasted by Louisville last year. They are okay.

4. The coaches have their work cut out for them, and O is 3 games into his tenure. I will wait and see how they respond, how recruiting goes, etc. O is our guy, it's who Alleva chose to lead our program. Might as well settle in. It's obvious we need to improve and I'm sure the coaches realize that.

Technically of course you are wrong.

I suppose we will see if you are correct going forward. I think we aren't as talented as people think. I do think that the more talented players are the younger players. They are getting tons of playing time. Not since 2000 has this many freshman gotten this much time (yes SOME freshman played under CLM, but they were generally VERY talented). To me, this season will revolve around our coaches in seeing how far along they can bring the youth. The reality is, we have not been an elite team for awhile as nine or ten wins, while nice, is not elite. Let's see how this plays out. If we look like shite, then warm up Orgeron's seat.

Orgeron is a mental midget. JT Curtis, Jay Roth, or Hank Tierney would be just as good

Sorry but in fact it is "only 1 game". Nomatter how much you ANTIFOs cry about it no matter how many mental gymnastics you do to convince everyone Saturday night killed the program the NCAAA will not add another loss to our record. Insane ANTIFO fan logic.... LSUs record after Saturday 2-11.
LSUs record in reality 2-1. It's 1 game and it's not even the worst loss in the past few seasons. It's the same record Miles started his career with and the exact same way (a historically bad loss to Tenn). Once we beat Syracuse Saturday it'll be a better start to the season than 2 of the last three years. Grow the frick up ppl.
