Which is why I said you were comparing apples to apples and oranges. You left the content costs out.

I've had PSVue for the last few months and my only regret is not doing it sooner.

I had been told that we'd have to get an antenna for the major stations.
Works for me.
Is Direct or PSVue better?

The big difference is that even if you use traditional cable, you are still usually paying for an internet service every month. Allowing me to use my internet service for cable means that I can spend all that cable money on targeted content that I actually want to watch rather than E! and other shite.

What all does Sling offer?
I'm basically in the dark here. Of course I've heard of these options, but we haven't even had home internet.
That's part of our switch. We can drop Direct, get internet and these other options and break about even.
Doesn't make sense to keep satellite.

lol streaming is for the poors.
I always laugh when they complain they missed the first half of Game of Thrones because their HBOGo isn't working or they can't find a stream to watch their favorite sport team play. Not to mention the endless lags and delays..
So glad I don't have to worry about these issues.

We did this like two months ago. Have Roku with Playstation Vue, Hulu, and Netflix. Saving a little over $100 per month.

Cut the cord over four years ago and don't regret it, but what you said is true. I don't worry about it much, but it can get a little old when you want to watch something and the internet is slow at that time.

And you're still paying for Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu etc even if you still have cable.

Yea I can obviously see the appeal but probably 90% of what I watch on TV is sports. The amount of rage damage I would do if I'm trying to watch my team play and can't because of the Internet would be way more than what I pay for cable.

i cut the cord 7 years ago, estimated savings ~$60-100 per month
thats over $5k saved on the low end estimate.
not a lot, i admit, but its still $5k

Which is why when discussing costs we should leave internet out. Although some get a bundle discount for having cable and internet.
Just compare content costs to content costs.
For me, I don't like splitting things with friends or mooching off family. So for now cord is good with me. Plus, the quality and ease of use is much better with cable.
I applaud anyone for doing what is best for them though. So good on you guys for saving money etc.

How do you get your internet?
My internet is bundled with some skimp cable channel bundle with Cox.

But family phone plans cost more than single phone plans. So, like I said costs will go up.
Not when you split up the cost, they don't.

In the end, when I pay for top of the line internet service, HBO GO, Showtime App, Netflix, Hulu, Sling TV (for each room), etc. the difference is negligible and the ease of use is way down.
I cut my traditional cable/internet package that I think was $160ish, and now I have DirecTV Now and faster internet speed for less than $100.

They're about the same. I got view for two reasons and they are redzone channel for an extra $10 and frick DirecTV.
