If you are trying to compare the cost value of a package such as internet / cable / content vs. internet / no cable / content, you can't leave out content costs because you steal/share passwords.

I would cut the cord completely if PSvue had VIACOM channels because those are the channels my wife must have. Sling TV doesn't allow DVR so it's not an option. I only have a basic cable package for my wife. I don't watch cable/satellite tv at all.

I pay a total of $170 for DIRECTV with all the sports channels I need and HBO, internet, and cell phone. This includes unlimited data on my cell phone and I can watch all my shows on my phone whenever I want. I was a cord cutter but when this deal came along it was too good to pass up. I have access to Netflix and Hulu if I really want it but I don't watch that much TV any way. How could I make it cheaper by cutting the cord again and getting all these services for a lesser price?

Cord cutting is a great way to save money especially if you have relatives to bum streaming service passwords off of.

This seems impossible to me. I was paying $160/month for DirecTV to get HBO and the sports package. This was without internet too.
Though, that was like 3 years ago. I guess they had to lower their prices because everyone was sick of their gouging.

Wrong.
I have 100+ channels + HBO on DirecTV Now for $35, which has all of the ESPN channels, NBA TV, MLB TV (I think, I don't watch baseball), SEC Network, Big Ten Network, Longhorn Network (again I think).
And I have 1 gig up and down for $65 a month.
