Wasn't Chimes St in its prime early to mid 90's?

If you think having an actual gang running around being "prime" sure, it was prime for a few blind mice.

Man, I tell people over here in Atl about quarter oysters at the Chimes all the time. Miss those days.

Also, there was some little seafood restaurant out off of O'Neal that had all you can eat crawfish for a few yrs that we used to crush. Can't remember the name of that spot.

Back then, the Chimes always had a good mix of characters regularly hanging out there.

Multiple advertisements for freshly squeezed juice at bars.

Was this a big thing in the early 90s?

Does the Chimes still do " around the world"? God we'd hit that shite every Tuesday when imports were on special.

Yeah Fred's sunset club was big with the $1 screwdrivers. I think lots of people copied. Murphys and Fred's had the same ownership I believe so they might've shared that special.

My black neighbors back then had the job of cleaning up Murphy's after they closed every night.

Anybody have a pic of the controversial CJ poster they're talking about?

I'm sure this isn't it, but I found it when I searched and it's pretty badass:

That Reveille is from march 1990, the spring before my freshman year at LSU, Shaq was a freshman

Chad Loupe was in my class, he wasn't on campus at LSU yet in spring 1990

coupons at Baileys? Best coupon was walking to Texaco, grabbing some beer, and trading it for copious amounts of chicken.

Yep I can remember (barely) T.A.'s specials. $3 "Beer Bust" on Fridays and $5 all you can drink wells on Saturday.

I often wondered (briefly) how they could stay in business at those prices....Guess you can't.

The T.A.'s sign still hangs on the wall at the Chimes.

What was the deal with that? The timing of it is so bizarre as, if I recall correctly, they were on the verge of breaking big.
