@neenareports

Talked to Army Corps again just now. Right now, releases from Addicks + Barker into #BuffaloBayou are a combined 13,000 cfs. #houstonflood

The current releases have caused #BuffaloBayou to rise a few feet. And Army Corps is considering increasing rate of release. #houwx

I was told today that the Schneider Bulk yard in Houston is under water. The person who saw it told me, "a bunch of Freightliners in water up to their windshields".

He also said that there are no tank washes open in that area right now.

I just watched a c-130 start refueling a Blackhawk over our house. Pretty fricking impressive.

I just saw the clip of the lady losing her mind at the shelter. It is on Barstool Sports page on instagram if anyone follows them. It was from CNN. That reporter didn't know what to do!

To clarify, it is 16k cfs, and the impacts are minimal to non-existent at points further down Buffalo Bayou. However, where the release merges with the Barker release, the impacts have increased water a foot or two.

It is rising as far down as wilcrest and Kirkwood in Briarforest, so I doubt it will be just a foot.

$1.1M home in Katy, TX on Zillow:

Will have 2-3 feet in the home as the Barker reservoir rises, in all likelihood.

There is going to be so serious money to be made for the people who have the money and capabilities to flip houses that size.

Think BR post flood house flipping. But instead of sub 300k houses being bought for 75k, houses like this will be able to be bought and rebuilt half priced.

The little bit of contractor fraud seen lately in BR/AP will be small potatoes compared to what could happen...

Scary to think about.

Being in the industry it's scary to think about all the shoddy fly by nigh contractors that are going to pop up in the next few months.

This thing is heading east now?

Good things conditions weren't favorable for development because it's spending a lot of time over water.

After them originally saying it's going to make its second landfall around Beaumont it looks like it's going to go up through Lafayette.

The Buffalo Bayou is actually down at the Beltway, and the Buffalo Bayou at Dairy Ashford is up less than a foot since they started the releases.

ETA - The trend @ Dairy Ashford isn't great though, so we'll see.

One of them.

Just browsing the Barker flood map and wondering what houses were going for in the areas that are expected to flood.
