I take it they have increased the release because the (est. 25k cfs) inflow is still outpacing the outflow so they need to release pressure?
An official statement yesterday had both dams releasing maximum cfs and it gave the amounts of each. Then they told the amount of water coming into each dam, and in both cases the inflow was about 2x the maximum releasable outflow. And from those numbers they've been able to estimate accumulations in acre feet as well as over/around flow amounts and how long this will last for each dam.

Dude Beaumont and Port Arthur has been getting an insane amount of rain. Radar shows them still getting hit with heavy red in bands.

What's the point to this reply? I'm saying they're off by quite a bit on how this is tracking back through the Gulf.

There are a number of homes in a Lakes of Buckingham that already have water in them.

And what is the max flood insurance policy? 300k?
If they even have it. That house is roughly 101', and the 100-year flood plain in Barker is 95.00'. It is projected to get to 104.4'

Did they know about the dry air that won't let Harvey strengthen before they moved the LSU game to Nola?
Would have been a disaster if Harvey was sitting in the gulf strengthening and getting ready to come up right through the center of Louisiana.

Yeah my family in Kelliwood Gardens was telling me about that neighborhood. Basically nothing but homes $1MM+, right?

My street in Nottingham is bone dry. Would love for it to stay that way

There were basically no models that suggested the storm had a chance to get any higher than a very low end Category 1 storm. Also, the drier air has been impacting the storm since Saturday.

Props to this Mattress King dude, Jim McIngvale. Seems like a legitimately good guy offering his stores as shelters.

Yeah they knew about the unfavorable conditions while it was still over Texas. That's why they were able to say it really wasn't going to regain much strength. It might just be a touch more windy in Baton Rouge now with the shift east. A lot of the rain is being choked out by the dry air.

250k. You can get additional insurance though for roughly the same price if not in a flood zone.

They're talking on the Weather Channel about some storm off the coast of Africa that is 90% likely to turn into a tropical depression.
Crazy to think these massive storms start as just rain showers somewhere in Africa

I believe he's like a legend in Houston. Started from scratch and apparently has done this kind of thing in previous disasters.
ETA- as soon as I typed this, I'm thinking it might be another furniture guy instead.

How close is she to Dairy-Ashford/I-10?
My office is right there, and I checked it out this morning. Almost no water at that time.
I'm hearing that status is changing. I'd appreciate any good info anyone has about that area.
TIA
