Non sequitur.

I would say healthcare is a basic human right. But the level of care is up for debate. Also "healthcare" is not really about healthcare. It's about insurance. And insurance is in now way shape or form a right.

You just made the case against boondoggles like "ObamaCare".

Higher premiums. Rationed access to the higher quality care that paying individual's previously had.
There is a moral impetus to care for those who can not pay. There is also a moral impetus to hold irresponsible individuals (morally) accountable who demand access to health care REGARDLESS of their own irresponsible (negative) choices and behaviors.
There are tons of Bureaucrats pushing paper and trying to look busy, whose abilities could be better used toward health care. I don't know the economic dynamics, but if Government (our tax money) could educate/create/employ doctors instead of social workers...seems that would be helpful.
Of course, the best of doctors will always be reserved for those who can pay the most for said service. Supply/demand.
Pelosi is a narcissistic idiot.

the Bill of Rights says nothing about health care. being a "right" is a left-wing propaganda push to garner more votes from the lower echelon of society.

Didn't we just do this thread like a week ago?
I mean look, I have strong opinions on the subject.
But, I don't think that there will be ANYTHING new typed in this thread.

Someone who makes shitty lifestyle choices can't be demanding healthcare as a right.

healthcare can only be a right if you believe slavery is acceptable.

Just scanned the constitution again and didn't see healthcare listed so, "No"

There is no doubt that if the current medical technology had existed in the 18th century, the Framers would have enshrined healthcare as a right in the Constitution.

A few months ago, my sister had some blood work done. Put it on insurance, and the tab was something like $600. A few weeks later, her son went to the same place, also to get blood work done. My sister ran a couple of errands, then went back to pick him up. He was standing outside, and she said "hold on a sec, let me go inside to take care of it", and he was like "it's OK, I already took care of it"...she was thinking WTH?, then he told her before the doctors knew she was paying with insurance, they charged him $30 cash. I can't articulate it as well as others on this board, but I'm sure something in that scenario is fricked up....

why do you say this, especially since there is "no doubt"?

"There is no doubt that if".... is the kind of thing said by someone who has no evidence to support their position.

Interesting, but notice how education was left out the constitution? Clearly, the terminology of enlightened education existed and still it was left out the constitution.

You don't understand what a right is. Can you recite the part where someone else is forced to pay for theses things?
Thanks.

I think this country has a duty to make sure all of its citizens have access to affordable healthcare. If that makes it a "right", so be it.
I don't think it's a right that's enshrined in the Constitution.

Again, no.
Rand Paul said it best. If it is a right, then a person can force him to treat them or risk sanction.
