Wait... what? Was this in the show? How did I miss this?

you post a paparazzi photo of her walking in her "normal" cloths, outside in the heat with no make up on; to a photo shoot in foundations, that is airbrushed.
Is this what the Maester thread has become?

I see no big deal about Sansa saying Bran should be Lord of Winterfell. Since neither Robb nor Rickon had produced kids, Bran, as the eldest surviving legitimate son, is the clear heir to the Stark's house. If he asked for it, I imagine the entire North would be supportive of his claim, and honestly, Jon would likely yield to him without a fuss. He wanted to give it to Sansa, who had less of a claim than Bran does, but is still a Stark. It would break up the big alliance most likely, unless Jon were willing to kneel and give his position over to Bran (who would probably then keep Jon as his general and advisor).
I think it will create some tension when the word a Stark male has shown up, unless he's public and adamant about giving up his place to Jon. That still might be problematic. But again, the North accepted that Sansa yielded her claim to support Jon, and if Bran does too, Jon should be ok... at least during the immediate wartime period. If it were peaceful, Bran would definitely be the target of some people stirring up trouble- at any time, he could claim his spot, and separate the North.

At this point the WW and NK are bigger concerns than titles.
Posted on 8/2/17 at 1:15 am to rebeloke
which Jon was really trying to hammer home to Dany that her "birthright" was meaningless if they didn't stop the white walkers.
Jon doesn't give a damn about protocol or titles anymore. He just wants as many people as possible to fight the WW.

This. The Tyrells are done and Olenna was a part of bringing the Dothraki over. That makes plenty of sense to me.

Bran doesn't want the north and said as much. He is the 3 eye raven now.

Could Jon still be Kingindanorf if Bran were lord of WF?

Why would Rickon having kids affect Bran being heir? Isn't Bran older than Rickon anyway? Been a while since I've read the books or seen the early seasons of the show

She didn't yield it, they chose Jon.

Bran doesn't want it, so they have no choice. Jon didn't want it but he accepted the job given him.

Good question. I don't think that was ever needed, since the King in the North ruled from WF.(I assume. I'm terrible with details.) But as said above, Bran isn't interested, so it doesn't really matter.
If Jon and Dany end up marrying I would imagine they would make Sansa Wardeness of the North, and emo Bran will find a nice tree to sit in.

You know what pisses me off the most about GRRM? Not only has he completely fricked us as book readers, but he's most definitely frick the Double D's.
They have absolutely nothing to go off of now and are trying to make fan fiction into a tv show. It'd be one thing if they alone had the last two books and were going off of them, but they have nothing to use and pull from so they're fricked.
So, once again, frick GRRM.

quote:That's kind of iffy... on the one hand I'm taking King in the North as acknowledged leader, the North shall follow as he directs. Jon technically is the resurrected commander of the Night's Watch, so there's that.
Could Jon still be Kingindanorf if Bran were lord of WF?
On the other hand I thought it was basically always a Stark who was KITN.
I suppose if Bran claimed Winterfell, then knelt to Jon and said "all hail the King in the North", then none of the others would have a problem with it. The way Jon is using it, he's raising defenses and facing North beyond the Wall, not South towards KL.
Put it this way- if Allister Thorne or anyone else had become Lord Commander and was aware of the magnitude of the threat the Night King posed, he presumably could be in the same position as Jon.
The Crown is still under contest and isn't lending any aide to the North, so he'd appeal to every house of the North to temporarily unite and focus on the impending danger. He would need SOMEONE to be undisputed leader of the military effort, or "King in the North"... and as the most familiar with the foe and leader of the Wall's defense that easily could be claimed by him. It's basically granting emergency powers to do whatever is needed, heck it almost could be seen as an extension of his original duties, as the entire North is now the Wall.
Thorne likely would do as Jon did- put an end to whatever conflict was going on (he might have chose the Boltons as they were in stronger position, but the point is the same), hold a summit, present his case, and ask for assistance/fealty to mount a defense. If need be, he could simply say that he seeks no permanent position, only through this Winter (that's basically the pitch Jon made).

It's like y'all didn't watch the episode, it doesn't matter what would happen in that scenario, Bran said he wanted the complete opposite.

Jon's relationship to WF is a sticky one, as KitN it is the traditional seat...but that's where it ends. He sees it as Sansa's birthright even now.
His claim to WF is an honorary one, and Sansa's understanding is clear, as she quickly ceded it to Bran...knowing that Jon would have expected her to.

quote:No, rewatch the episodes following BOTB. Jon wants to give Winterfell to Sansa, and she declined that. That was settled before they spoke to the other houses. She's out there openly supporting Jon as the leader, not standing and claiming it should be hers. She advises him and questions the wisdom of his moves at times, but she isn't invoking the "I'm the Stark and you MUST follow my commands" card.

I think her saying what she did to Bran, was basically her realizing that Bran DOES have a legit claim (if he were to push it), and they just pieced together an alliance under Jon... "oh shite, Bran could wreck everything if he wants". Bran and she will have to acknowledge to the others that he declines his right to Winterfell, to remain united under Jon. Otherwise, Jon can be viewed as a usurper.
