At what point in life do you typically come to the realization that things have become dramatically different from what you were used to.

I cant wait to say, you kids don't know what it is to do x, y, or z. When I was younger we had to a, b, and c. If we were lucky we got to d.

if you are in your early 30s you can say that now because you are the last generation to really know life without internet

I'm 31 and make references like that. Things are very different than they were 31 years ago.

I'm 38 and say that all the time. I was the last generation to grow up with out the internet but young enough as an adult to witness the internet/mobile explosion.

I'd say 50,but,that's jmo and isn't worth a whole lot.

I think when you hit 50 you're a survivor and can say stuff like that.

so you can say "back in my day we had to click a mouse button like 4 times to get food delivered"?

and have the kids reply "what's a mouse button?"

I taught my kids to use that phrase when they were 5.

Good times ensued when old people tried to give them stupid advice.

Back in the day, when I was young, I'm not a kid anymore, but somedays I say wish I was a kid again

With the leaps in technology I find my self saying that already.

I can remember a childhood without cellphones, internet, digital cable boxes, automatic windows, social media, SJWs, etc....

I once overheard a conversation between my 8 y/o nephew and his 4 y/o brother about their ipads.

When I was your age, I didn't have an ipad and had to watch youtube videos on the TV or Mommy's laptop.

When I say 'back in the day' I'm usually referring to my previous life as a knucklehead, when I finally half arse grew up and became boring is when the day changed I suppose.

But honestly my arbitrary reference point when speaking to someone will probably always be either 'back before the storm' or 'after the storm'.... when telling a story I don't know why but it almost always starts out with one of those two Katrina references.

When life was radically different then vs now in some aspect. I'm 27. Back in my day, we didn't have cell phones, but we had phones that ran off the car battery. Back in my day, you had to go to the store to rent movies. Back in my day, you could just pop a catridge into the game system and play the game.
