quote:

10 years ago today, June 29, 2007, was a milestone in the history of computing: The launch date of the first iPhone.

It wasn't the first "smartphone," or the first phone with a camera. It wasn't the first mobile device to have a touchscreen, or to let users install apps. (In fact, the app store didn't even launch until 2008, a year after the first iPhone was released!)

But it tied numerous disparate features together in a cohesive, well-designed whole — kickstarting a mobile revolution that has transformed the modern world.

quote:

It was announced by CEO Steve Jobs on-stage at the company's Macworld conference on January 9, 2007. The now-iconic exec was not humble about its possibilities — calling it a "revolutionary device ... that changes everything."

Five months later, as customers queued for days, it hit shop shelves — first in the US, then elsewhere in the world.

And the rest is history.

Back when Apple actually innovated and had good ideas. I'm not a Steve Jobs fanboi but Apple was killing it with Steve.

Now you've got Tim Cook whose best idea so far is a stylus that serves as a way to write on his iPad and also a dildo for his boyfriend's arse.

Had one of the first and everyone up until the 6.

Crazy how bad the first 3 phones were but were still revolutionary

I had the first one within a few weeks of release. Bought it for the MP3 player and now I don't even have music stored on my 6...strange.

I've still got an iphone classic somewhere. One of the few commercials I'd seen that had any impact on my decision to purchase something. I told my ex when I saw it that the iPhone would revolutionize phones.

That was the only iPhone I've had though because I quickly realized how shitty iTunes was and switched to a Galaxy.

I like being able to access the files on my phone from any computer without needing to install proprietary software.

If it weren't for hooking up, porn and gambling, the iPhone wouldn't have had an impact like it did.

I wanted one so bad when they came out. My hatred for
AT&T kept me from doing it.
When talking to someone who's using an AT&T phone, it's always noticeable.

The phone in the first picture is a Cingular phone. It really has been a long time.

They really haven't changed much with that homescreen. I can't imagine having the same looking phone for 10 years.

had the first iPhone in 2007 back when it was a status symbol.... people would come up and say " Is... Is that the iPhone? Can I hold it for a second?"

Had a version of the iPhone ever since.

I think the iPhone 5 was about the time that I just completely stopped using my computer to look at pron and exclusively used my phone

The only noticeable difference between all those pics of IOS1 through IOS10
is the wallpaper.
