At the end of the fall I plan to put my 2010 18 CC Xpress up for sale and step up to something a bit bigger.

I'm wanting a 22'-24' fiberglass center console bay boat. A must is a 200+ HP motor. Other than that i'm open to all brands. I will list a few brands that i have looked at below.

Frontier
Blue Wave
Blazer Bay
Skeeter
Panga Marine (or any other panga companies)
Sea Pro (if i went deep v)
Sportsman

Thats pretty much all the boats i have read up on so far. My budget is Mid to Low 30's. Looking for something lightly used. Like a 2013-2015 year boat.

You've come to the right place lol. I'm a nautic star fan as I have one and love it but make sure it's a wider beam bc it changes the ride completely. Where will you be fishing mostly?

I have a frontier. Love it. I can answer any specific questions on it. Cheaper than the 22 pure bay by 10k set up the same.

Bluewave makes a fine boat. Never fished one but they are everywhere for a reason but $$ when I was shopping

Blazer bay is the old frontier hull. Good boat.

Coworker has the sportsman 23 tournament. Well put together boat at a good price. Cheaper than the bluewave 24. Almost same price as the 22 pure bay

Can't go wrong with any of those. Get the biggest motor you can afford. 225hp on a 24' boat is a dog. Same with a 150 on a 22'. I have the 200hp on my frontier and it's quick.

ETA: those were new boat prices. I see frontiers lightly used for mid 30s

You could also check out the robalos. Nice heavier boats and their website lets you build out a boat with options and no haggle pricing. You are not getting a 22 footer for low 30s though. Gonna have to go used if you want that price.

I will add, I have a Blue Wave 2400 with a 300 Suzuki. I love it and paid a fair price.

Also, any of the brands you mentioned are great.

Check out Pioneer. Just learned about them last year. Very nice boat. Not sure of price.

I got a 2008 24ho Haynie with merc 225 for 32k. After taxes and different repairs/enhancements I ended up putting in another 10k.

my 2 biggest lessons about buying used:
1. I'm glad I brought a trusted mechanic to tell me what needed to be repaired immediately and how much it would cost
2. Negotiate even more off than you think, mechanic gave me info I needed to negotiate trailer repair - ended up with additional repairs in very short order

ETA - boat had 350 hours

Panga Marine

MY MAN!

Truth be told, a 22' panga isn't the same feel as a 22' traditional bay boat due to the narrower beam and lighter hull weight.

If you are looking for a larger "feel," panga might not be the fit.

The panga will be more versatile, fuel efficient, and arguably more seaworthy than any other bay boat in that 22' range.

I drank too much watching the game last night and didn't realize you were the op. I found a sweet nautic star and a fine pathfinder the other day for great prices. I'll see if I cant find them again.

The Sportsmans look like a great value, I have a Key West and it has been an awesome boat. Same builder I think. Gonna look at them hard for my next boat.

Pathfinder
Panga Marine
K2-Blackjack/Frontier

If I was spending that $30k I would look for used one of these.

Damn, had you posted a few weeks earlier I could have put you in touch with my dad for a killer deal on his 2010 Blue Wave Purebay 2200 with a Yamaha 250. Think he let it go for around or under $26k.

My Nautic Star was 1 year old with 18 hrs on motor and was 33k.

That was for a 214xts a 150hp.

Going to be hard finding a 200hp boat with low hours in that range
