As a teenager, Heimlich pleaded guilty to a single charge of sexually molesting a 6-year-old female family member. Heimlich registered as a sex offender in Benton County after arriving at Oregon State. When he was cited in April for missing an annual update, it put the case in Oregon court records for the first time.

Cant believe this shite drops from a local Oregon newspaper 1 day before Super Regionals. This pitcher is one of the best in the country and a sure fire 1st round pick next week.

Edit 6/9: Heimlich not pitching tonight. Source states he decided not to pitch tonight.

How the hell do you let this happen? It never would have seen the light of day without this all-time bone headed move. What a dunce.

Why oh why couldn't Oregon State have played a Super Regional at LSU? The heckling would have been unparalleled.

He will never play pro baseball. Never

He was 15 when this happened.

"She said that she told him to stop, but he wouldn't," the documents state, and that "it hurt" when he touched her.

Nobody should draft him now. That is a risk you absolutely cannot take.

Holy shite people in the pacific norhtwest are batshit insane

They think this is an attack on poor Luke Heimlich

quote:

Adolescents are often real confused about sexuality and sometimes do dumb and inappropriate things. This isn't to minimize his contact with the girl, and the event was appropriately recognized and separation was maintained. But to give this young guy a black eye as a "felon" because of a 15-year-old's sexual clumsiness seems wrong. As the expert stated, the likelihood of such a young person re-offending is very low.

quote:

While the situation is just sad, I do believe in a chance to turn things around for your life. There's mitigating factors in every situation. I'm sorry for all involved but this pitcher is clearly trying to move forward and be a success at something. There's plenty of other avenues to take in life, he was sure to know this would follow him and yet, he's still thriving forward. I hope Pat Casey has a good handle on this in the locker room. I can't imagine all the emotions. I still hope success for the Beavs and for all involved. Compassion is needed on all fronts here.

quote:

Sad in so many ways... For the offender who is now an adult and very likely trying to move forward. Forgiving is healing. (from a victim)

And to think, when I was 15, sexual clumsiness meant cumming in my pants, not fingering a 6 year old.

well to be fair, he was punished, did his time, and is permanently marked as a sex offender (possibly for life)

at a certain point, we have to let people live normal lives when they've paid their dues for criminal behavior

however, there may not be a worse profession for a person on the sex offender registry than a pro sports player. he'd possibly have to constantly report all over the country when they arrived for series
