Marcus Peters was a Pro Bowler year 1.
All Pro in year 2.
Same with Patrick Peterson

I'll be sure to call Payton, Loomis, Ireland and the dozens upon dozens of scouts who dedicate their life to this shite that they made a terrible pick.

Pat peterson had sever cramping issues that took him out of several games. Does it mean that you shouldn't draft him or not be excited about him as a draft pic?
Lattimore is literally almost pat peterson talented. Sure, his hamstring injuries are worse than Pat Pete's cramping, but I agree that this board is completely delusional by not being excited about getting Lattimore.
Claiborne was a no 6 pick, as a lesser prospect than Lattimore. He ran a 4.5 and was not as fluid or explosive. He had a clean bill of health all through college, and now look at him in the pros constantly injured.
Some things cannot be controlled. Lattimore if stays healthy, is literally one of the most talented cornerback's to come out of the draft in a while. To get a top corner at number 11 is unheard of. Saints were very lucky.

Bottom line is this, there are miserable fricks on this site that would have poked holes and found problems with ANY player we had drafted, even if it was Myles Garrett.

The only pick with zero holes in it was the Kamara pick.

Dude Allen is not a defensive end in our scheme, he's a DT in 4-3. If you don't know squat about football please don't post your opinion

This is a reaction to the horrible draftees(except last year) of the past 5 or 6 drafts. People are scarred from those drafts and on edge, with very little faith in the saints front office.
I for one am ecstatic about this pick. He has all star potential.
I think people also haven't caught on to the fact that the saints have cleaned house in their scouting department and actually have a competent war room now

The truth is every drafted player has holes, even the top pick Garrett. People are only choosing to hear the potential negatives about a player. They listen to guys like Mayock, who will spend 8 minutes talking about how great a prospect is and 2 minutes talking about concerns and they walk away only talking about concerns.
Also using the "we have a history of..." as an excuse to not like a player drafted now because of what has happened before is pessimistic vagina talk. It really makes many people in this fan base look like over dramatic Kardashians.

They were also so convinced we were taking a 1st pick edge rusher that they completely turned their nose up to the fact we landed the best cover man in the draft.
P.s
Has anyone checked out our new free safety's(the Utah kid) film. I can't help but feel he will be special he is Always around the ball

No need to check the film, the Saints drafted him so he's probably garbage amirite?

I think it's more about the recent plaque of injuries suffered on the Saints defense. Multiple players from this recent draft have an extensive injury history.

Well they did last season so...

I'm worried about them having such a lack of pass rush that it doesn't matter if the secondary actually has talent
Maybe Hendrickson ends up being a gem, or Okafor performs well, or Kikaha... any of those guys. I'm just not confident with it. Lattimore was a smart pick considering value, but I still think they should've addressed edge earlier in the draft.

Its bc 100 mock draft had us getting Barnett and all the Ronnie's here thought he was the only option for us.

Im not. We were 4th overall in QB hits last year with 106. We were 27th in sacks with 30. That tells me the split seconds we weren't able to sack QBs was due to the coverage. Lattimore and Williams along with a healthy secondary probably fixes those issues.

I agree to a certain extent. But for some reason I think Okafor will be enough.
The only reason he didn't start was because he was behind two double digit sack guys in Chandler Jones and Markus Golden. When he played last season he got 4 sacks and was top 5 in edge pressures efficiency. He also played all year with a torn biceps muscle, also part of the reason he lost his starting gig.
He isn't going to come in and be Cam Jordan, but if he can find his 2014 self then we will be set. He's also 26 and on a one year prove it deal. I also believe he and Vaccaro were teammates at Texas and he convinced him to sign here instead of with Zona. Because they were interested in bringing him back.

It's irrational, superstitious logic. It's something that is part of the culture of being a sports fan, but it doesn't make it any less fantasy. Just because historically like 20 years ago or even 2 years ago the Saints busted out on a cb prospect does not mean that the Saints are any more disposed to bust out on a cb prospect in the first round this year.
