What happens before the play is just as important as the play itself... Knowing where people are supposed to be is VITAL.. Etling has that.. There will be NO looking at the sideline to see what to do like in the Miles era... That was horrible...

I have an idea. Lets not play Narcisse at all, then start him in the Bama game. They won't know whats coming.

Narcisse hasn't played much at all in two years. He needs time. Certainly not close to being ready to face SEC defenses.

Myles Brennan has more talent than any QB on our roster. Period.

Canada took that undeveloped train wreck Brissette at Florida and made him an NFL QB at NC State. I have the faith....

In passing efficiency, perhaps. But it takes a lot more than that to be a successful SEC QB.

I think Narcisse might play situationally this year. Scott or McMillan may get first dibs at that opportunity, though.

Etling simply isn't good enough, he has proven that. Narcisse is the future.

Narcisse looks the part physically, he was the least accurate in warm-ups however.

ven though this might be a slight truth (although nowhere the same and aside from your obvious pathetic troll job)... the man in the hat is no longer here to derail his career before it even starts.
Les Miles coached 3 QBs that started in the NFL. fricking Flynn made bank off of one game.
The issue was recruiting mainly.

Talent isn't the right word. He's the most talented coming out of high school, no doubt. His ceiling is also, by far, the highest. Too many rantards like to anoint these athletic QBs who never did anything but rely on their athleticism. Playing QB at the D1 level takes WAY more than a strong arm and quick feet. Then we have idiots who are anointing a kid who hasn't played a full season since his sophomore year and we think he's ready for the SEC?!? And then they say he's the most talented QB recruit since Periloux?!? Wtf are these cats looking at? Periloux, for all his faults, was actually a smart QB. He didn't rely on just his big arm and feet in HS, he read defenses and went through progressions. This kid is no wear near what Periloux was coming out of high school.

I think realistically, we are at least a year away from approaching elite status; our youth at QB and average OL play will be a factor. Etling will be good enough to win us 8-9 games but his lack of mobility combined with the inability to stretch the field will hinder us against Alabama, Florida and the best defenses. Fortunately, Aranda will keep most teams from running away from us. If our special teams are truly "special" with returns and blocked kicks perhaps we can steal an upset or two and change the course of our season.

Myles Brennan won't see the field this season until he has a 40 pound weight gain. Drink plenty of milkshakes Brennan. Kid would get killed in the brutal SEC. 2018 is what he should be gunning for.
But a kid with major injuries to both legs won't. If the only knock on Brennan is weight, he will get a chance.

Well, we’re back to same place but Narcisse is probably the best looking prospect LSU has had in a while, i hope. Either way, Narcisse needs to get equal reps until September. Etling is OK, but if LSU intends to make some noice this year, gonna need Narcisse to step up.
IDK about that. Do I agree Narcisse should get more reps in practices yes, but do I think he should get equal reps, no.
If we are honest with ourselves we won't be were we want to be until next year maybe the year after that.
I am really hoping Narcisse becomes the future at this program, but whether its him or Brennan both need to be brought up the right way and that takes time. Both need a redshirt.
Narcisse needs to be fully rehabbed and locked in a film room for a chance to compete in a 2018 Qb competition. Narcisse needs to understand reading blitzes coverages etc. He has been away from the field and needs to understand how to operate the offense.
Brennan needs to hit the weight room and the dinner table. Brennan will desperately get adjusted to the speed of real competition. I saw him against Brother Martin and he put up no where near the stats he did against the MS competition he played.
Throwing either one of these two guys into a starting position will ruin them. From what we would get out of them we could let Scott or McMillian run the offenses while they are properly developed.

That might have to do with the fact that the rest of his team was entirely overmatched. He was running for his life all night.
I still agree that there is no way he comes in and starts after fall ball

Why is it that people give Brennan a pass when his stats were down vs better competition? Narcisse was running for his life nearly every game. Prior to him starting as a freshman, SJH hadn't won a game in 2 years. Narcisse actually needs to get the reps snapping from under center, since in HS he worked totally from the gun. It's an entirely new sensation for him, actually having time to pass without having to scramble.
