re: When did this phenomenon of blowing all your yard waste into the street, start?

then bam Alejandro blows a nice cloud of clippings and lawn dirt all over you.

I walk down my long driveway blowing everything back into the yard as best I can. When I get to the end and there's a little left, it goes in the street to get whisked away.
And I cut facing away from the street so little goes into the street that way.
If for whatever reason a lot of my clippings find their way to the street, i'll blow them back in the yard, but for the most part, I don't care if myself or anyone else leaves a few clippings in the street to be blown away by cars.

One day you'll have really terrible things to worry about.

every once in a while its good to mulch it and leave it on your grass. keeps your grass healthy.

Lawn clippings are one of the best sources of nutrients for your yard.
If you bag the clippings you are throwing away what is essentially free fertilizer.
For a better looking lawn just blow the clippings back into the yard instead of bagging it.
Don't Bag Clippings

We have a lot of pine trees and two large live oaks along the street as well as defined flower beds with a 1'-2' dirt area between the grass and the border in the front and back yards. I have gotten in the habit of using the blower before weedeating/cutting/edging and blowing everything into the yard. Then I cut, which mulches up everything and go back at the end quickly with the blower.
Maybe I spend too much time thinking about this. The yard still ends up looking like shite from weeds.

It looks like shite when you blow it all in the street. I usually blow it back into the grass

True, but it takes years opposed to weeks

My lawn service doesn't do that. I think they carry it off on their trailer because they do not leave it behind.

I mulch mine as well. Bagging it seems stupid and pointless.

I hate idiots who do this. It's illegal in a lot of places, looks trashy as hell, and if thick enough can be a real hazard to those of us who ride a motorcycle.

no just the cars that truck has afforded me.
